Re: Worst places in the UK you have been to

Lol. Newhaven is about 10 mins drive from me, and that is not very far off. It's that ring road that does it. Someone I used to know called it a moat, which I think is a good description. It cuts off the town centre from any passing trade. We went to the cemetery about a year ago (the wife has fami...

Re: Worst places in the UK you have been to

I had always got the impression that Wellingborough was quite a nice well-to-do sort of place. That was very soon dispelled, as soon as I'd walked out of the car park. I've never seen a town more obviously dying on its backside than Newhaven. I think it was Lonely Planet that said 'There's a bus to ...

Re: Highest odds for West Ham to win ?

Back in December 2017, Coral had Manchester City at 70-1 to beat us 8-0 at the Eithad.
We were 90-1 to win 1-0.
I had a quid on us, but we lost 2-1. We'd gone 1-0 up :fsake:

A bit of light relief - what your boots say

Everything your football boots say about you as a player. You've arrived at the local Powerleague. You're tentatively warming up your quad with the only stretch you remember from your playing days (the one where you pull your foot up to your arse and totter about like a baby giraffe until you can fi...

When Val McDermid was on Pointless, she said she knew sixty ways to kill someone, and after that episode of No Offence, I tweeted her to ask if she'd thought of that one.
She replied 'I'd have opted for a different orifice'.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......

I'm up and down the motorway a lot with work, I often stop in the services for a coffee and use the facilities, there's two things I've been thinking about, all the staff, do they get any extra travel money as surely they must have to drive to work Out of interest, I looked at the nearest MSA to me...

Went to see a band called The Prevention.
They were better than The Cure.
And on a similar theme:

Got ripped off by a tout.
We wanted to go and see The Cure, but he sold us Placebo tickets.

Those of us of a certain age will know Uncertain Smile by The The, and the piano solo originally done by Jools Holland. Caitlin Moran's 16yo daughter has had being able to play it on her bucket list and finally managed it. She got this response from The The's Matt Johnson: https://mobile.twitter.com...

Judging by comments on the BBC website, Jose's honeymoon is over: Richard Duncombe: Never mind the new decade. This is the worst I’ve seen Spurs play since the start of the last one. Mourinho out of ideas and out of touch? Dennis Ethan: Jose Mourinho is outdated for the Premier League, he can't be l...

Looking for the tiniest glimpse of a silver lining, I suppose that at least he knows what he's getting into. Nothing that the Three Stooges get up to should surprise him, so he knows what he's got to deal with.
