Re: villa & man u matches moved for tv

Indeed it was. On the same day that England won the Ashes that year.

So just take a look at the date that the last test finishes on for this year's Ashes!

Re: ‘Welcome to hell’ Prisoners welcome West Ham hardman Tomas

And he wasn't a hardman either. His shows of temper always seemed like fake, trying to enamour himself with the fanbase type of behaviour, rather than genuine shows of anger.

Thought Pardew was the same with his dancing efforts (for both us and Palace) as it happens.

Re: Football's quirkiest grounds (non WHU)

Surely this is West Ham related? We have a quirky ground, it's the wrong shape.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Nothing ridiculous about my question Dave, sorry Walter. I'm a member rather than a season ticket holder and have therefore sat in a number of different parts of the ground. With the exception of the lower parts of the East Upper, I would say the entire upper tiers have shocking views. Personally I ...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Clawhammer,

While it's great that you have a good view, do you have any thoughts for the 50% of people (at least) who have a shocking view due to the games being played in an athletics stadium?

Re: The 92 club

I'm on a mission to do this at the moment. Was on 72 but with Yeovil and Notts County going down I'm back down to 71 (Orient coming up gives me one back). Contemplating trying to go to Newports home play off game if I can get a ticket to even things back up! Still got quite a few Northern teams to g...

Re: Anti-Semite chant.

Bang on Rays Rock. Gotta laugh at those speaking disdainfully on this thread about the "young mongs" using the f-ing jew line. What used to get sung back in the day at White Hart Lane was much worse. And yet those that sung it back then (i. e in their youth) are now holding themselves up as some sor...

Re: Hammers United

Firstly I just wanted to say a big thank you to all putting their time and energy into this. I would love to get more involved but sadly family issues make it impossible for me to do so at this point in time. The list is excellent and pretty much all of the points raised are genuine and worthwhile i...

Re: The worst ground in the Premier League

Loving the deathtrap phrase! Seriously, when was the last time someone actually died in a premier league football ground because of its layout, Selhurst Park or otherwise? The London Stadium definitely justifies its position in this list. Main reason being that from the majority of seats you have no...

Re: New Tottenham stadium (non-WHU)

Part of the reason that the East Stand, and other parts of the ground, were falling into disrepair was because the owners were deliberately letting it do so. All part of their efforts to make the fanbase become tired of going to Upton Park and embrace the athletics stadium. Just like ignoring the is...

Re: David Gold . When you have a plan!

I wouldn't call it admirable. That's a bit like saying an armed robber is gutsy for having a third go after getting caught the first two times (they have stolen our soul after all). How Gold gets away with the doddery old innocent fool from some people when talking about the axis of evil is beyond m...

Re: Hammers United Launch

George, for the sake of effecting change at the club you need to come out and say what's been going on. I know it can't be easy but if every action group is going to be thwarted by threats and underhand tactics then we have lost the club forever. What form does the abuse take? Threats? Violence? Per...

Re: Hammers United Launch

In which case surely the pertinent question is what are the WHUISA going to do about being ignored. What is the next step? Genuine question because at the moment not a lot seems to be happening. For me a genuine form of protest is needed as the board are still behaving as terribly as they did regard...

Re: The Billy Bonds Stand

I used to live very close to Billy and would often see him picking up his daughter from the station. While desperate to have the chance to speak to him, out of respect I never bothered him when he was going about such a normal family duty. So one evening I decided that at the very least I would time...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

I know he is a club legend but Trevor Brooking's involvement in all of this surely has to be questioned. He criticised those involved in the Burnley events, but any true Hammer would understand where those protesting were coming from. And now he is openly talking about stadium adjustments which, tog...
