Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

I may be misreading this and one or two other posts but are we at a point where people are questioning Paqueta’s influence on the team? Even if we can’t see it from observation, the stats alone suggest we are a completely different team without him (a much worse one) His influence on the team last ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Leverkusen had the options to change things first half. Kossounou was a disaster, on a yellow card and being absolutely torn a new one. Alonso could haul him off early and bring on Tapsoba. It’s a shame Alonso didn’t risk it a bit longer, as I thought we would either score again or he’d get sent off...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Likely to be the curtain coming down on Moyes European career with us. Thanks for all. Nights like tonight, yes, it was still a great night to experience, have been absolutely massive for us fans over the last 3/4 years.

How many comments were there about ‘I’ll take a 1-0 loss and get them back to ours’ etc. Players will be disappointed and will look at what we could do differently. Doubt they’d have said the same if we had managed the 0-0 that night.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Personally , I think we'd have nicked that game if Paqueta and Emerson were playing . Alvarez's attempted long passes to Bowen and Antonio were dreadful. He ****ed us massively. His attitude and performance last week not only hurt us in that game, but meant he couldn’t play tonight. You’ll get accu...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

There isnt a sole reason why we lost the tie really, there are plenty. No Bowen and Alvarez in the first leg. No Paqueta and Emerson in the 2nd. Lack of options, s****y referee, late 2nd goal in the first leg. Multiple reasons. However, we did what we could when we could. I don’t think Moyes played ...

He was terrible. Forget about Antonio. There were other wrong calls on top of just disrupting the game for very little reason. Waving his hand in the air non stop. Early on a blatant throw in for us was ignored so they could break. He was useless.

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Fantastic from our boys tonight. We made a real game of it and it was a great European night. The referee hurt our momentum. Let them do whatever they wanted to Antonio and he effectively wasted a half on behalf of Leverkusen. An absolutely muppet really. Card happy and may aswell have been Xabi Alo...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Please just score first. The place will be rocking and that's half the battle. Tommy scoring against Sevilla set the tone and I reckon we could do the 'impossible' if we manage that.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Sorry mate, I don't see it that way at all. I don't think he will manage another Premier league club. For a start the fans at most clubs would be up in arms. But we shall see what happens when he leaves WHU. What would rule him out of some jobs is the way the clubs operate and the fact that we seem...

There would be more takers now for Moyes than there would have been when we first appointed him, which in itself shows the job he has done.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

I love him, Anyone who wants him gone is mental imo I don't want him gone as I don't want us to sell our best players. However, no point him being here if he's going to play up non stop on the pitch and is counting down the days until he can get to Man City. We don't know all the ins and outs, but ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Got to get the balance right here. First goal is obviously massive for whoever gets it. But, if we go gung ho chasing it, not only will Moyes have a heart attack, they will pick us off with ease. We can still be at 0-0 60/70 minute mark, 1 goal will rattle them and (I hope) galvanise us. The only f...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

People keep trying to belittle his main strength... which is bizarre. I agree with this. No point taking set pieces out of the equation. His set pieces have been important for us and are a strength of his. You look at everything he offers/doesn't offer and balance that out against everything else. ...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

Given the raw numbers, he has to be a good signing at the very least. My issue, and this was my issue before he signed, is that he has similar weaknesses that we already have and we haven't really addressed them. I know we had one game where him and Soucek played together and we won, but overall tha...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Do something more wild. Play Kudus behind Antonio, Bowen at RW if he's back and just hope Ward-Prowse can do a job at LW. He didn't last time, but I feel like we waste Kudus there. Kudus I have enough confidence in to play there. I remember at Olympiakos him tracking back non stop aswell and he did ...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Put paquata in a city team and watch him become on of the best. When you have Rodri running around and a £1bn team alongside him, he'll probably be fine. The issue isn't ability with Paqueta. I don't even have an issue with the fact he gives the ball away. He produces enough moments of quality doin...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Looking at MOTD highlights I don't think any real blame on Mav or Paqueta is warranted for the goals. Mav made a mistake. I wouldn't go mad blaming him, but it was put on a plate for Pereira. I did read someone say he usually does that and Soucek would mop it up, but not to that extent. It was basi...
