Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Got to get the balance right here. First goal is obviously massive for whoever gets it. But, if we go gung ho chasing it, not only will Moyes have a heart attack, they will pick us off with ease. We can still be at 0-0 60/70 minute mark, 1 goal will rattle them and (I hope) galvanise us. The only f...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

People keep trying to belittle his main strength... which is bizarre. I agree with this. No point taking set pieces out of the equation. His set pieces have been important for us and are a strength of his. You look at everything he offers/doesn't offer and balance that out against everything else. ...

Re: ✍ Welcome James Ward-Prowse

Given the raw numbers, he has to be a good signing at the very least. My issue, and this was my issue before he signed, is that he has similar weaknesses that we already have and we haven't really addressed them. I know we had one game where him and Soucek played together and we won, but overall tha...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)

Do something more wild. Play Kudus behind Antonio, Bowen at RW if he's back and just hope Ward-Prowse can do a job at LW. He didn't last time, but I feel like we waste Kudus there. Kudus I have enough confidence in to play there. I remember at Olympiakos him tracking back non stop aswell and he did ...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

Put paquata in a city team and watch him become on of the best. When you have Rodri running around and a £1bn team alongside him, he'll probably be fine. The issue isn't ability with Paqueta. I don't even have an issue with the fact he gives the ball away. He produces enough moments of quality doin...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Looking at MOTD highlights I don't think any real blame on Mav or Paqueta is warranted for the goals. Mav made a mistake. I wouldn't go mad blaming him, but it was put on a plate for Pereira. I did read someone say he usually does that and Soucek would mop it up, but not to that extent. It was basi...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I'll ask again. Did DS have to sell Fornals and Benrahma in the last window or was it the manager who wanted to get rid of them? It's pretty clear that Moyes wouldn't have wanted rid of them without replacements. As I said the other day. One of or both were used for 14 successive games before they ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

19 doing a lot of heavy lifting in this thread to cram in the period we were without our, at the time, in form attack. Last 10 not a good sample size? . Well 19 is every game in 2024 isn’t it? It’s not a number plucked from thin air and winning only 4 of them is pretty harmful. Yes there are plenty...

Doesn’t really matter if anyone did tbh, 19 games is a big enough sample since. Whether anyone blames Moyes or how much they blame him for is worth the discussion, but 4 wins in 19 isn’t good enough for us is it?

Re: ✍️ Welcome Lucas Paquetá - Our Brazilian Magnifico

He’s not a scapegoat, but he doesn’t exactly seem like he’s in the mood to rally the troops does he? Thursday was poor from him. Gets a yellow card we needed him not to get through petulance. Then nearly got himself sent off just after. Had to be moved out of the way which nullified our Antonio thre...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

The motivation drop will be more due to a Sunday Afternoon against a rather insignificant team from West London sandwiched between a European Cup QF 1st and 2nd leg. The issue is that they need to remember beating the likes of Fulham at home is what helps you get more of those Thursday night games t...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We were poor. But we clearly didn't play "defensive low block" when we had nearly 60% possession. But the tedious 'he can only play one way' posts will persist. I'm more concerned that the players just didn't seem up for it (equally the manager's remit alongside tactical set up) than by o...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Not sure going all out for Moyes is the right reaction for Today anyway. I think Moyes made mistakes with the way he utilised our front 3/attacking players and that’s his fault for sure, but he’s probably about as much to blame as anyone else for how bad it was. I tell you one thing that hasn’t help...

57% possession, I thought we were useless. We were useless. This sort of thing is becoming stupid now. Pettiness about possession stats etc. We can be useless with lots of or little possession and we can be very good all the same. We were shocking Today. No amount of 'here you go people who want po...

Re: West Ham United vs Fulham FC - Sunday 14 April - 2pm

Said a million times on here. January killed us. We won every game in December. Sullivan wants us to be mediocre mid table. He only cares about his own pocket and that's where it's most efficient for him. That's a part of the problem, absolutely. It can't be the excuse everytime we put in a dog ***...
