Re: HC's 24 hour marathon

Very interesting point from Kieran just now regarding the lack of stadium sponsor etc. Believes West Ham have struggled since moving to Stratford as a result of the poor relationship between club and fans. Asserts that major companies don't want to invest in clubs exhibiting disharmony. The lack of...

Re: New Tottenham stadium (non-WHU)

Sorry to interrupt a discussion about the provision of urinals at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium but it seemed like the perfect time for an update. This thread has now rocketed up to 44th most popular thread by replies on the GD and fast closing in on the Lee Bowyer thread which ran between 2006 and 20...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Think you were trying to say that you despair at some of the posters on this site, as opposed to the actual site itself. and probably not even some of the posters, just some of the posts. It would be extremely weird if my position was that an internet forum should not be giving a platform fo...

Now up to 53rd most popular thread in terms of replies out of 1,100 threads in the GD.

Will likely be in the Top 50 by Easter.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Its not legit. The poster pondered “did he [Pellegrini] just say a better atmosphere at the LS than the Boleyn?” No, he clearly didn’t and he didn’t even imply as such. The manager is talking up the football club and praising the impact supporters have had in home games because they are focused on s...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Manager attempts to drum up a positive feeling and promote continued good atmosphere at home games ahead of a tough game.

West Ham supporter reaction is to slag him off on the morning of the game.

I despair at this site at times.

Re: New Tottenham stadium (non-WHU)

Of all the threads on the GD, this is the 60th most popular in terms of replies. It’s ahead of the new club badge poll thread, is the waiting list a scam, supporters club thread (started 2016) and obviously many, many more WHU threads. It’s even ahead of the Aaron Cresswell thread which began four y...

Re: Hammers United Launch and initial approach to club

Since stewarding and the match day experience is rightly on the priority list, it’s worth bearing in mind who is providing those things. I’ve mentioned several times previous not enough effort and pressure is exerted on the people that operate the stadium by the people that attend the stadium. I wou...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Do people generally think the carpet is a good thing? I ask because I have seen it mentioned on here, sometimes as a great thing. I just dont understand, what difference will it actually make to anything at all? I am suffering from the fear of missing something so be gentle. Bilic wanted it so the ...

Re: So what happened to the 50,000-strong waiting list, Karren?

Isn’t that referring to an additional single match seat, not an additional ST?

A sort of “bring a mate” thing which allows an ST holder to buy a seat ahead of general sale or whatever on their own account number?

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

According to EX on his latest radio show, the claret carpet is going to be around the pitch in time for the Everton game. :P Doubt it’s that soon. I was hoping we would reach the two year anniversary of when the club first agreed it, designed it and offered to pay for it with E20. We’re on our thir...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

UK Athletics have a 99 year lease that requires an athletics track for it to be fulfilled. It would require UK Athletics to relinquish that lease to have the track removed. The problem is the UK Government invested close to a billion pounds to support the 99 year athletics "legacy" ... pull the leg...
