Re: West Ham Utd v Bayer Leverkusen: match thread (2nd leg)
Great effort by all the players and staff, it was fun while it lasted that’s for sure and it’s a way better ride than the dullness of the PL. Can’t see us in Europe next year without a miracle unfortunately. Moyes needs to come out now and give it both barrels regarding that ref and the Lino on the ...

Can’t really ask any more than that, cracking first half of football there, another day Bowen slots that chance home.

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread
33 shots to 1. Law of averages and all that. We can’t defend for 90 minutes unfortunately, it’s too draining, you could see them gaining an edge around 75-80 minutes, we looked done in. Good effort but beaten by a far better side on the night. They’re pretty good. Makes for an interesting game next ...

Re: Kids' names
Knew a kid growing up called Roman Warrior, 100% true.
Nobody calls their kids Gary, Keith, Richard, Alan, Fred, Mark, John, Neil, Paul any more, all popular names from 60’s and 70’s. I dare say there’ll be a resurgence at some time as these things tend to go in cycles.

Re: Stopping the cheating
The first penalty isn’t one either imo. Gordon makes no attempt to play the ball, he deliberately leans in and cuts across Vlad actually wiping him out rather than the other way round, it’s clear as mud on the TNT highlights. It’s the same “foul” as on the goalkeeper in the American chaps example, n...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Enjoyed that in a perverse kinda way, a few heart in mouth moments at both ends, the customary Antonio one on one miss, Paqueta with a very cheeky free kick late on getting up quick from tying his boot laces was funny as. I think Moyes must have asked Antonio if he was ok to hang on for the last 10 ...

Re: Little things that irritate you
Add a structural engineer onto the list, you might be able to put a steel in somewhere to support the chimney then remove the walls underneath. Not sure if you’ll need a party wall agreement of some kind though to do that though? Quick google says you do so possibly not worth the hassle. Maybe turn ...

Loving The Gentleman, it’s everything you expect from GR. Theo James has got a bit of James Bond about him or am I seriously seeing something that’s not there? I can’t say I’ve seen him in anything else. As for Susie Glass, well, I’m lining her up to be the next Mrs BCC, she’s lovely!! One episode t...

The lads head must be all over the place and I wouldn’t be surprise if he’s a nervous wreck every time he steps on the pitch. He’s been terribly unlucky and it’s gone from bad to worse for him. I’m not sure he’s ever gonna be right for us unfortunately. There’s no way that was a penalty today, he’s ...

Newcastle = Brentford
Howe = Frank
Let’s smash another couple past them in the second half and not let the officials have the opportunity of robbing us again.

3 Body Problem. Yet another Netflix less-than-subtle allegorical sci-fi come satire except this one’s really rather good. All sorts of existential tropes to get your head round (which all basically boil down to ‘wake up you stupid humans before it’s too late’) but there’s a bit of nuance and it’s c...

Anything to continue the Manure decline into averageness is music to my ears.
England might actually win something as well

I said after Burnley, take the shackles off and we’d tonk a few teams, that’s the stuff. I was entertained loads, very well played lads. That Kudos goal was almost Ravelesque in its magnificence. Special shout out to Antonio who was brilliant tonight. Have we cloned him? I think that’s the way forwa...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24
Antonio was outstanding when he came on, as were Alverez and Ings. Bowen came to life in the second half and it ended up being a rather exciting game. Had a bit of everything, dodgy decisions, goalmouth scrambles, off the bar attempts, was entertaining stuff. First half though, strewth, that was pro...

Re: Today i bumped into...
Haaa...in 1981, Cliff Richard nearly knocked me off my motorbike as I was heading over Walton bridge. He was in his Roller coming across the lights from Weybridge (he had a gaff in St Georges Hill) and 100% ran a red. I'm not sure who was more shocked, him or me lol. Once I'd stopped shaking at my n...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24
Thought we were poor tonight, gave the ball away far too often, maybe a little complacent after the group games against them? Fab back in means hoofing it upfield to nobody, we are ***** at throw ins and Pac-Man looks like he’s already left for Man City. For me, Fonz would have been on his toes and ...
