Re: What did you watch last night?

3 Body Problem. Yet another Netflix less-than-subtle allegorical sci-fi come satire except this one’s really rather good. All sorts of existential tropes to get your head round (which all basically boil down to ‘wake up you stupid humans before it’s too late’) but there’s a bit of nuance and it’s c...

Please footballing gods, make that happen.
Anything to continue the Manure decline into averageness is music to my ears.
England might actually win something as well :)

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

I said after Burnley, take the shackles off and we’d tonk a few teams, that’s the stuff. I was entertained loads, very well played lads. That Kudos goal was almost Ravelesque in its magnificence. Special shout out to Antonio who was brilliant tonight. Have we cloned him? I think that’s the way forwa...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

Antonio was outstanding when he came on, as were Alverez and Ings. Bowen came to life in the second half and it ended up being a rather exciting game. Had a bit of everything, dodgy decisions, goalmouth scrambles, off the bar attempts, was entertaining stuff. First half though, strewth, that was pro...

Re: Today i bumped into...

Haaa...in 1981, Cliff Richard nearly knocked me off my motorbike as I was heading over Walton bridge. He was in his Roller coming across the lights from Weybridge (he had a gaff in St Georges Hill) and 100% ran a red. I'm not sure who was more shocked, him or me lol. Once I'd stopped shaking at my n...

Re: SC Freiburg -v- West Ham - EL16 match thread - 07.03.24

Thought we were poor tonight, gave the ball away far too often, maybe a little complacent after the group games against them? Fab back in means hoofing it upfield to nobody, we are ***** at throw ins and Pac-Man looks like he’s already left for Man City. For me, Fonz would have been on his toes and ...

Re: ✍ Welcome Edson Álvarez

Shearer managed to make a big deal about the very similar run by “Bruno”, which ended up with him fluffing it into a defender, Isak then tucked it away. That was early on, not at 96 minutes and ending in a sublime finish.

Re: ✍ Welcome Alphonse Areola

If Everton create poor quality chances and have poor finishing why is that our problem? They had 21 shots against Fulham, 14 shots against Tottenham, 19 shots against Palace, 18 shots against Tottenham (Away), 24 shots against Man Utd. Didn't win any of those games. They clearly create lots of low ...

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

Fonz kept us in that with some spectacular saves today but those last two goals were very well taken indeed.
Everton did well to bypass our midfield who were nowhere to be seen and looked the far better side in the second half but its goals that count not misses eh?

Re: Everton vs West Ham United Match Thread

So now you can kick a ball at a defenders arm who’s only 5ft away and unless they have the reactions of a formula one driver, a penalty is given? Ridiculous. How is defending with your arms tucked behind your back at all “natural”? Bowen must be a super hard b*stard knocking poor old tarkowski over ...

Re: Summer Holidays

Anyone taken the family to Turkey? Want somewhere with a bit of culture to explore, not just stuck around the pool/beach. We like to mix it up a bit and drag the sprog round the odd Chateau or whatever the Turkish equivalent might be. Looks like it could tick a few boxes but I always get overwhelmed...

Re: What did you watch last night?

Bit late but I finally got round to watching ' Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning Pt One ' - Hmmmm .....I've really enjoyed most of the Mission Impossible films and I think Tom Cruise has been brilliant in the role of Ethan Hunt but this one felt as though it had run its course - utter nonsense of...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Lucas is a football genius and players like him are few and far between, he’s the kind of player I bet we all wish were when we were kids, he’s freakishly gifted for sure. He’s up there for excitement levels with DiCanio and Payet for me. Grealish for me is decent player but nowhere near the same le...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Winning the ball high up the pitch made the big difference, Brentford were a bit sloppy in that regard and if Tommy had his shooting boots on tonight we’d have been 4-0 up after no time. Much better tonight. Didn’t think that was a pen on the spuds thug (who should have had a second yellow in the se...

Re: West Ham United v Brentford : match thread

Brentford really miss Mbueno and he’s the one that normally rips us a new one. I thought they were awful against Liverpool and Toney was kept pretty quiet. They played a very similar low block style to us I thought and got a similar tonking. It was like watching us playing in red and white stripes L...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

Agreed, it’s tragic that blokes being paid £50-125k a week can’t take a bloody throw in and retain possession, it’s pathetic. If Coufal isn’t launching one in to 6’-4” centrebacks to comfortably desl with he’s like a rabbit in the headlights and doesn’t know what to do, the rest of them are equally ...

Re: Nottingham Forest v West Ham United : match thread

Aguerd is a pussy, he’s no Dawson that’s for sure. Nunez today pops a peach over the goalkeeper when 1 on 1, Mike runs straight into the keeper in our game, laughable. Some composure up front, maybe play the ball along the floor for a change and we could still nick a draw but i won’t hold my breath.
