Doing well in a 2 team league? No thanks.
  • So was Brendan Rogders, & he ain't doing too badly at Leicester now is he?
  • Europe is not a 2 team league.
  • Scotland used to be a 1 team league before Gerrard rocked up @ Rangers..
Apart from that great point, well made.. :asleep:

Re: Who Next? The odds

Bit of a curveball suggestion, but given Brendan Rogers' success since coming down from Scotland would anyone take Steven Gerrard? He's had far less resources than Celtic but is now toe-to-toe with them, and some impressive results in Europe his season. He's had more experience than Lampard so shoul...

Kovac was pictured at the Everton game. You can probably forget that one then.
Will be quite gutted if they get him ahead of us. :(

Niko Kovac - has worked with Haller before and is out of work currently. Also plays 3-5-2 which I think our squad is made for currently.
Good call this 👍🏼

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg seems to be pointing the finger: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/nov/25/case-for-against-sacking-marco-silva-manuel-pellgerini-unai-emery-everton-arsenal-west-ham-football “ The Spaniard [Roberto] was picked by Mario Husillos, West Ham’s director of football...

Re: Who Next? The odds

Bringing in a manager whose entire reputation is based on maximizing the potential of a limited squad, with limited resources, as well as having no experience at a bigger club and thus no expectations with regards to spending power or recruitment autonomy. I wonder why our owners would want someone...

Re: Who Next? The odds

He's certainly not bang average in the context of what he's achieved at Bournemouth. He gets a relatively small club competing in the Prem year in, year out. I would arguably say playing at their full potential, if not beyond that. He's worked miracles there. The Stats posted previously prove you w...

Re: Who Next? The odds

Exactly, never got the media hype, surrounding Howe, and this just proves that he bang average. But if your face fits, what do stats and facts matter, eh? Now.. who's going to break it to hammerman11? Indeed - it's baffling how over-rated he is. But also telling that no other club has really come i...

Re: Who Next? The odds

Want to be really shocked... they have a bigger net spend than Liverpool since 2015 as well. Their Russian oligarch owner is pouring money in, Bournemouth may be a "small" club, but they're one of the 15 or so biggest spenders in Europe by net spend. Especially since their owner's Net Worth is only...

Re: Who Next? The odds

What I make of it is the shocking fact that a club that gets a crowd of 10,000 has a bigger net spend than us. Is that right? In the modern word crowd size has very little relative impact on a club's revenue. That said, it's amazing that Bournemouth stay on the right side of FFP - yes they were cit...

Re: Who Next? The odds

Bournemouth (last four PL season finishing positions) 14, 12, 9, 16 Total net spend £119.35m (Avg 29.84m per season) And let's throw West Ham in there: 10, 13, 11, 7 Total net spend £110m (Avg 27.5m per season) Make of it what you will. So from that we can forecast that if we give Eddie Howe 8.5% M...

Gotta hand it to that Dyche - I can't think of any other manager who could keep a club in the Premier League after finishing 19th.

Re: Who Next? The odds

He was the one who kept us up, not Moyes. Hmmm – remind who was the one who recognised Arnie should be converted from an entire career playing as a Winger to a Central Striker and set-up the team to play to his strengths? Pretty sure that’s what kept us up. Until then Arnie had under-perfor...

Re: Who Next? The odds

I guess I’m in a minority, I’d be happy with Moyes. I thought he deserved the job for another season at the time. Got us from a relegation spot to mid-table safety. As I recall, once we were safe got us playing more attractive, attacking football. Yes, it back-fired with heavy losses to the likes of...
