Re: Bristol City v West Ham United: Match Thread

My last three away league games attended: 15/9/1992 Bristol City 1 West Ham 5 17/10/1992 Bristol Rovers 0 West Ham 4 2/5/1993 Swindon Town 1 West Ham 3 Just under 19 years later, I hope to continue my winning streak on Tuesday at Ashton Gate. Re: West Ham v Nottingham Forest match thread

As this is my first visit in a couple of years I have been through the whole range of emotions over the last few days, but at the moment (after a couple of beers), I'm confident of a comfortable home win. My last visit was Sunderland towards the end of 2009/10, 1-0. I brought two mates to their firs...

Re: West Ham v Nottingham Forest match thread

This will be my first game at the Boleyn for two years. Part of me thinks we should walk over them and we all leave happy, part of me (which hates the Fat Sam approach to football with a vengeance) fears that I will find that my team have morphed into Bolton and I will join the haters who condemn ea...

I just bumped into a fox, which was investigating the bins in our street. Some people call them vermin, but to me urban wildlife is a sign that the planet hasn't yet gone completely to ****.

I suggest we just suspend the thread until this time next year when, Greece having gone bust and EG having got out of his two year contract on the grounds that he hasn't been paid for six months, we go in for him for a fourth time.

Sorry, I always feel queasy just seeing his smug face in the papers. Thoroughly dislike the man and everything he stands for. Big fat no.

Not true. Essex 'Ammer11 was always my true love.

I just didn't get all the Twitter jargon - who was commenting on Hitz, and is he anywhere near playing for us?

From anthony edgar's twitter! Woo!

Thanks for your concern; the weather is pretty cold, and the rain last week meant the river rose a few inches, but nothing to worry about, unlike those poor buggers in North Bris.

Re: January 2011 transfer window thread

We cannot loan SWP as we already have Bridge on loan from Citeh, only one loan player allowed from any club in England. We cannot loan SWP as he only has 11 days to pass his medical, and he's been trying for at least 5 years, it seems. Sorry, I haven't been on here for a while. To save me skimming ...

Re: Liverpool vs West Ham United: match thread

Is it wrong that I followed the first half through Talksport and the BBC website, then ignored the second half for fear of a massacre, and was then surprised and relieved to find out that we only lost 3-0? I feel disloyal, but at the same time it's a kind of self-defence mechanism to not have to put...

Re: Aston Villa v West Ham United: match thread

It's weird: with everything else in life, I hate a short term outlook. I completely ignore stockmarket crashes/surges these days, because all the traders are looking at is what's happened in the news today, rather than the overall financial strength of the companies whose shares they trade in, but b...

Re: Alan Pardew

I'd have him back if he promises to do That Dance again next time we win an FA Cup semi final. Anyone who makes me look like a good dancer is ok with me.

I think he should also be offered the MOTD 2 slot recently vacated by Adrian Chiles. He showed promise during his work experience.

Re: Sunderland match thread

Blast from the past: 13 December 2003, Division 1: First game I ever took my wife to, corner of DML and BML; we were almost in the middle of a barney between disgruntled Hammers at half time, by the end they were hugging and kissing. There's never a dull moment, is there? West Ham 3 Sunderland 2 By ...

Re: Sunderland match thread

Accepting that my knowledge of performances this season so far comes from Sky and MOTD, I am surprised by the number of people wanting Stanislas to start. He seems to me to be a bit like Joe Cole in his early years, exciting and daring going forward, very good control on the ball, but as soon as he ...

This will be my only visit to WHU this season, ticket and train fare is too much. Re: West Ham for sale (the fat lady will now..........)

So after 1106 pages of speculation, is it safe to say that no-one, including probably the potential purchasers and Straumur, has a ****ing clue who will be the owner and who will be the manager by the end of the week?
