Re: Weekends other games (04/05/19)

We're in a bit of a situation, there's no denying that.

Re: Tonight

Really interesting comment there Modern, think you may be letting them off a touch lightly personally. You would know a lot more than I though. From where I stand, the players are overused because the squad doesn't have the strength in depth that it should have to compete at the very top level. You...

Re: Tonight

Honestly, I’m not sure I’d be as forgiving with the top brass. Where Spurs needed investment was in their alternates. I don’t believe there is a team out there who have played more matches than Spurs this term. In fact, Spurs played more games in the CL Group Stages than we did in all our cup compe...

Re: Tonights matches

Modern, do you reckon they will be the biggest names leaving you lot? I always get the impression that it will be like a dam breaking; Erikesen, Son, Alli, Kane all leaving within a short amount of time. It could be, I always think 'how could Kane leave us' but this is quite possibly romanticism, w...

Re: Tonight

Whatever Spurs go on to achieve (or not achieve) this season they have given their all. As much as Kane and Son are a huge loss, the loss of Winks and Sissoko (and Dembele in the window) was the real killer last night, emphasised by the improvement when Sissoko did appear. I feel sad for Wanyama he ...

Fair play to West Ham, better than us today.

Great finish by Antonio.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham Hotspur V West Ham United: Match Thread

And, of our only 2 players, Adrian was making his debut and is now firmly 'break seal in case of emergency' category. One single player in just over 5 years? Crazy. Adebayor rifled in a volley, didn't he? It was quite the weather, front row behind the goal. Will always personally have a soft spot f...

Re: ⚽ Tottenham Hotspur V West Ham United: Match Thread

if West Ham are the first team to win at the new stadium so be it, if it’s a choice between Arsenal, Chelsea, why not West Ham? After the OS saga between the teams it would actually be quite fitting, a good full stop. West Ham certainly have the ability to beat us or anyone, gap between the teams in...

Re: Transfer news and rumours

Could do worse than taking a gamble on Jack Roles who doesn't seem to be getting a new contract from Tottenham for reasons unknown.

Re: Transfer news and rumours

The media have no real idea what anyone’s budget is.

Even if the Spurs thing is true they are saying 150m if Eriksen and Alderweireld are sold. So 50m.

Re: Declan Rice pledges future to England.

Has had loads of good performances that I've seen but this one really impressed me, it’s not even so much his ability though that is good, his decision making at his age is unusual.

He makes the right choice most of the time.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread (13/4)

I think with VAR they will probably just find small issues to get the results how they want, tiny shirt pulls at corners, hand balls you can't do anything about. Really was disgraceful today, if we assume it's not corruption and it's ability it really is quite frightening. Rice was absolutely awesom...

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham Utd: match thread (13/4)

Should be 1 up.

Refereeing incompetence means it's the opposite.

It’s a tough job of course but why would any referee be desperate to give that penalty after disallowing a goal that they can’t be 100% sure of.

Re: New Tottenham stadium (non-WHU)

why Is Spurs renting Wembley for 25-30m for under two years a leg up when West Ham are in a massive stadium also at a fraction of the cost.

Will be a close to a decade in the OS before West Ham have had to pay a similar amount in rent.

Re: New Tottenham stadium (non-WHU)

It may not bring Spurs closer to winning anything, we're simply not very good at that (I'm still trying to come to terms with it after Liverpool at the weekend :) ) . But if we'd stayed at White Hart Lane we would have just slid backwards in my opinion with Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea soon to have...

Re: Birmingham possible points deduction

In his last season at Spurs the only player he signed for a fee was Scott Parker for 5 million, the rest were free transfers and loans. He also sold 21m of players throughout the season. Of course this wasn’t his doing it was probably all Levy but it does show that it is up to the owners to keep the...
