Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 4 days remaining

Wasn't Hugill signed because Carroll got injured in January, at that point we were playing Arnie up top on his own, Hernandez was sub, so we needed cover Carroll got injured on Jan 4th. We sold Sakho on the 29th, Ayew on the 31st and loaned out Martinez on Feb 1st. Surely it would have been easier ...

He's 26, so not really young though. Was an odd one.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 4 days remaining

I just saw on the Guardian liveblog for the transfer window that loan deals can be completed up until August 31st. So if we were going to loan someone, makes sense to deprioritise those deals in favour of permanent transfers at the moment. Might be why we've not heard much talk of loans being compl...

He won't be 4th choice. Chich and Arnie will play. Perez would be next choice. He also provides wide options, which could allow us to let a winger go to fund a CM?

This from a ' reliable journalist ' . Nicolò Schira @NicoSchira Lucas #Perez is getting closer to #WestHam from #Arsenal. On monday they will talk to finalize the deal. #transfers #WHUFC Goalscoring record is dictinctly average, but I reckon he'll be a decent backup (ie. an improvement on Hugill an...

Joao Felix, even if the rumour is true, would go into the academy. He's never played a game for Benfica, so there's no chance he's anywhere near Prem level at the moment.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 7 days remaining

In on what? The manager saying this is the forward I want? You implied that Moyes had bummed some money to a club he had ties with for a player not worth it. I suggested that someone else would have been involved so that can't be the case. I'm sure Moyes picked the player, but others would have dro...

He probably only had one signing.
We gave them millions and millions of pounds for someone who was never going to be on our level.
Is it a mystery?
You'd imagine other people at WH would have been involved in the process. Do you think they were all in on it?

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 7 days remaining

I think both our full backs were an issue. It seems the manager agrees. The first new signing was a young right back We've had no competition at RB for a while now. Byram is usually injured and, when he isn't, is both not very good, and a card waiting to happen. Wouldn't disagree at LB either. Cres...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 7 days remaining

It's relative to the athleticism of the league you are playing in. The premiership is a younger mans league. By 31 you have had it if you need to be pacy I don't disagree re pace. However, Man U just had their best season in 5 years with two 33 year old full backs (Valencia and Young) in their side...

Zabaleta is 33. He isn't even 34 till January. Whilst not young, he's far from the old man that people make him out to be. I also think he'll play far more games than the perception currently is.

Liverpool wanting £20m+ for Ings and £27m for Origi, West Brom wanting £20m for Rodriguez from Burnley, Mitrovic going for £22m...honestly, there are some really crazy valuations going around at the moment. Wanting money is different to getting it. I'd be surprised if anyone stumped up £20m plus fo...

Make him train on his own for a year then. In the current market, £3m for a teenage English player is no better than a free.

Yes. We insure loan players. Although I guess his actual value may be the responsibility of Inter in this case, while ours would be for wage contributions, etc.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018--9 days remaining

If Palace get the Kouyate that we had for the 2 seasons at the Boleyn then they have a hell of a player on their hands. However, if they get the Kouyate we've seen for the last 2 seasons then he won't even get in their team. Last season it seemed like MOTD were analysing him not tracking back for a ...
