Be that as it may, we're probably still buying him to play on the wings!

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

Excuse me for not bothering to look through the past five hundred pages to see if this stuff has already been said!

I'm having the name Ivan Bandalovski thrown at me, by the way, if that means anything to anyone.

Re: Eidur Gudjohnsen

Gudjohnsen coming to West Ham? Is it July already? Next up - School exams have got easier as record results are posted and Andy Murray on taking the positives from another failed Wimbledon campaign. Don't you just love the predictability of an English summer? It's gonna rain over the bank holiday, ...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

Just a quick update based on what my ITK mate has told me: - Parker could be on his way to the highest bidder, unless he decides he wants to stay, in which case he may well stay - some other players are up for sale: these could include Cole and Green - Matthew Upson has left the club - Tony Carr cou...

I know Sam builds from the back, but I hope we don't play three defensive midfielders at once.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

And after that, all the newspapers said the same. Not sure why Trap gets dug out. He had the Wayne Bridge thing nailed on, and the Robbie Keane transfer, before the big papers did. Even if he does just trawl the papers, he gets people excited and brings about some optimism. It's a forum, not the UN ...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

There seem to be lots of CMs available or semi-available lately -- Hargreaves, Reo-Coker, Barton?, etc. I think it's about the only position that we don't really need to add to!

No -- Trap didn't give you the scoop on Gardner, did he?

We said he failed a medical to save face -- he actually chose to stay at Bolton because his family didn't want to move.

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

My mate who's ITK reckons that Parker, Cole and Green will all be staying, unless they decide they want to go and an acceptable bid is made. I probably shouldn't post it on here, but apparently Tottenham (and more specifically, Redknapp), are interested in Parker, whilst Green may be on his way to V...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

A midfield on Noble ,Collinson, Parker and Nolan...albeit not much width will still demolish Championship teams. I'd have problems with that midfield..because of the lack of width; you need wingers whether your system is 4-5-1, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3..and noble and collison (presumed wingers in that midfie...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

Baring in mind we are after Nolan I think we will be playing a 4-2-1-2-1 type of formation or 4-3-2-1 however you want to put it... ------------------Green--------------- Spence-----Faye-----Tomkins-----LB -----------Noble------Collison-------- RW---------------Nolan---------------LW --------------...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

We haven't actually got much of a squad, have we? We have ZERO full backs definitely with us next season: we're reliant on Jacobsen and Spence re-signing. No LBs. I think that means we're comparatively well stocked in the centre, with Reid, Da Costa, Tomkins and possibly Gabbidon. We definitely need...

Wasn't it part of an ongoing injury, which is now solved as a result of his surgery and long lay-off?

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

Fergie very rarely plays Valencia and Nani at the same time. Also, whilst being three wingers, Nani, Young and Valencia have different qualities. Nani is extremely skillfull, Young likes to cut inside and Valencia is more old school and attacks fullbacks. You could say that Young is the replacement...

Re: Summer Transfer Thread 2011-2012

We need to try to do all our business before the season even looks like starting. Today is the day to tell players like Upson, Dyer etc to f**k off, and we need to start building for the future. Our core next season looks like it could well be the likes of Spence, Tomkins, Noble, Collison and Sears....
