Re: Anthony Scully

But it is a telling feature - I think the last Academy member I can recall getting an England age callup was maybe Turgott? No-one from WHU is featuring at the moment, despite even Championship clubs contributing players. Of the current bunch of youngsters, Kemp and Trott have had call ups, Alese i...

Let Nobes have a couple of games off and then rely on him against Saints
As soon as Anderson is back, they'll be no way for Moyes to squeeze Noble into the team.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

I wouldn't bother starting him in the next two - Liverpool and Man City. Maybe on the bench, maybe rested completely. Perhaps give Snodgrass, Anderson and/or Fornals a go in there as the ball-playing third man with Rice and Soucek. Surely a midfield three of Rice-Soucek-Noble is better suited for a...

Re: Anthony Scully

Probably released due to Silva and Dju both returning to fitness. Both are regarded as better prospects so if Scully had the chance to go and play league football it'd be wrong to deny him that.

It isn't just his running speed it's also his brain speed.
I remember hearing a pundit/ex-manager- cant remember who, basically say the same thing a few years back, and said it's the reason he was never called up for international football.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

When your captains chasing shadows but letting everyone else know what they're doing wrong it cant lend to a positive feeling in the dressing room. But he cares- ain't gonna help. Everyone of us care but putting us center midfield ain't gonna help us win games. We had Rice and Soucek today, there wa...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Formation change didnt help. Snodgrass into Nobles position and bring in Fornals and we would have been fine. Nobles not good enough anymore, plain and simple. As soon as he done that length of the pitch run on the break in the first half he's afternoon was done.

Turning point for me, Antonio coming off he was scaring them.
Should have been Noble for Fornals.
Yep, thought that was the obvious one

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Redknapp was an excellent manager, dodgy as **** though :arry: From 97-2000 he made some great signings... Hartson, Lomas, Ian Pearce, Berkovic, Sinclair, DiCanio, Foe, Kanoute....Genuinely exciting times. All around the 23/24 age range barring Di Canio. Let's hope Moyes follows through with hes pl...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Ah, I see where your POV is coming from. You don't get what it means to be a football fan. It does make a difference where he's from because supporting West Ham is about the community, the people and so much more than what happens on the pitch. You don't get it and that's fine. The problem is we've...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

How on earth do you expect me to quantify that? Loads of players have come out and said he did a great job making them feel welcome and pundits speak glowingly of his aptitude as Captain in the press. On the other side, is there any evidence he doesn't do it well? Of course theres no evidence, eith...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

A captain is far more than what he does on the pitch. Noble conducts himself brilliantly off the pitch, whether that's representing the club in whatever extra curricular activity he's doing this week or helping out with bedding in new players. Sounds great, but is there any reason to believe he doe...

And he needs to stop doing that stupid no look volley across the park that he boots 60ft in the air and keeps dropping to the opposition.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

I dont like the way he stomps his feet and sulks like a child when any decision goes against him. You wont catch Jordan Henderson doing that. Or any captain to be fair. Just get on with it without the poor poor me routine. Why people consider him to be a great captain I dont know. Just talks in cli...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

Anyone else just feel sorry for the bloke? Sure, he has his limitations, but he absolutely loves the club. Gives his all in every single game and is undoubtedly an absolutely fantastic captain (one of the best in the League I’d wager). But he’s been surrounded by a shower of ***** for almost his en...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Moyes might wanna ease Soucek in but this is a must win game, Cant rely on Nobes for a FA cup tie against Championship opposition, so after a midweek game I doubt we can rely on him for this one. Benched. Not sure if its more risky to play Balbuena or Cresswell. Would chuck a new RB in ahead of Ngak...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

If Sullivan had refused Wilshere a 3 year deal and he went elsewhere, or had he denied Allardyce the Carroll signing he may well have been slated for not backing the manager. But within a couple of months he would have been proven right and maybe right now he'd have a bit of credibility, but he never.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Dont look like were spending any cash in this window, seems were limited to loans-to-buy in the summer. So surely loaning Lanzini out for six months would be a better idea than selling him whilst he's out of form and a less attractive signing. Six months in a italy/spain could put another £10M on he...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Lanzini hasn't been good, but then a look back into the Antonio thread will show alot of people was in a rush to get rid of him not so long ago, many currently consider him to be our most important player. If we sell Lanzini we wont get more than £10 million. I'd hold on to him.
