Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

He contributed nothing, he could have got on the ball, held the ball, ran with the ball (as Antonio was), he contributed nothing as is usual at the moment. I don't think that's unfair. What did anyone else contribute in that time? How many times was he given the ball when he didn't have someone rig...

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: Match thread (09/02)

There's no excuse for surrendering when teams like Norwich have beaten them and Palace have taken a point there. I want some effort, commitment and challenges on every second ball. If they can't do that then they can not bother in turning up. I agree with all of that, but think we'll play exactly t...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Yes and contributed nothing as is usual at the moment. He came on at 3-3 with 5 minutes left when the fight had completely gone from the team, they were just waiting for the fourth to go in. the damage was done, the fight was over and we were desperately trying to hold on. What exactly do you think...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

So nothing to do with Fabianski having a rare brain-fart and punching it against Oggies back and it rebounding in for their first, I'm not having that. That ****hole Murray is stood in front of Fab and obstructs him from getting to the ball so all he can get is a weak fist on it, it comes off Oggy ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Agreed. Looked handball at first, but when seen from another angle wasn't. Car crash defending for second goal cost us. The sky highlights makes it look like it hit him in an extended arm around the inside of his elbow and rolled down his arm. I haven't seen an angle that doesn't make it look a cle...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

A corner that hits one of our players and goes in can happen. Fine. The second could have been cleared by either center half and they watch it for them to score. Appalling. The third looked a handball on the pitch to the extent that even the ref called it. I don't know if there is one VAR image that...

I imagine noble is there To give the new boy a guiding hand
We have less bottle and commitment when Noble doesn't play. We need to get stuck in and harry this lot like we did Bournemouth. Nobes is key to that IMO.

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Interesting options. Assume Snods and Antonio wide. Fredricks back. New boy in a midfield 3, who will be the advanced option or will he share with Nobes? Harsh not to have the boy on the bench at least after a solid showing against Liverpool. Strongest bench we've had in a long time though. Might ne...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

Reckon Lanzini may play instead of Antonio depending on fitness. Hopefully he starts. Even if Antonio is available for selection putting him on from the start would almost certainly lead to him getting injured again. The difference he makes to our team is obvious and positive but that's the reason ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

TFFT. No idea if he's the right man, but young, pacey, direct... It's what we think we need right? Poor window overall though Randolph - not deemed better than Joe Hart 2 years ago Soucek - no idea if he's good enough but we needed more bodies in the middle to replace the ones we sold in the summer ...

Re: Welcome, Sebastien Haller

Edit: I remember the beginning of the season there were a couple games were Haller and Anderson were linking up well. Anderson and Antonio actually run at defenders and challenge them with their speed and athleticism. Haller has always seemed to play better when those guys are actively involved. Se...

Re: Welcome, Sebastien Haller

His production warrants criticism but he is obviously a very talented player. He produced in a competitive league and has shown flashes of his great finishing and touch. I think he gets criticism partly because he's limited - unlike Arnie, he's not an incredibly direct player nor is he going to hel...

Re: Welcome, Sebastien Haller

Don't forget that he's lazy, and sulky and not giving 100%. You know the same thing this board has said about every attacking player we've had since... Tevez? And that's only because he wasn't here long enough to have a rough patch. He is languid and not exactly the sort of passionate/emotional we ...

Re: West Ham Utd v Brighton and Hove Albion match thread

this is not a must win game knicker-wetters, at best a must not lose game. In (all) our great escapes the defining results have been in the last 6-7 games of the season. I fancy we'll be in a similar position this year, but god knows if we'll get out of it. It's hardly knicker wetting to acknowledg...

My sentiments exactly. I don't know the fella, but someone who could do that job would unease our potential elsewhere. There is a metaphor in here somewhere but I'm too tired to find it!

Go to bed now. Your wakefulness will not impact the potential signing of players and nothing we do now can change the team for Brighton tomorrow.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

That'll be between £35-50kpw then. If he's asking for the reported £60k I'm happy for us to haggle. Even though I have a low opinion of the deal offered to Wilshere he has represented his country and played in the Prem, as has Lanzini so if Jim wants to earn more make it incentive based, score or a...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

So Moyes/the club don't fancy Diangana? weird. I don't think that's true necessarily. Grady is doing well at West Brom, he needs playing time away from the toxic circus (see earlier treatment of Fornals and current treatment of Lanzini). I said at the start of the window, leave him where he is, whe...
