Re: West Ham United v Macclesfield Town: League Cup Rd 3 (26/9)

All this play the youngsters rubbish. Couple of questions should the youngsters play and we get beat, Is then fair game to give the manager stick? Secondly should we win and draw a top 6 club next round are you going to play the kids them? oh no they can play against the lesser sides but that's as ...

Re: Arthur Masuaku

I think that f*** is one of the hardest positions to play now. Especially in a back four. You are supposed to be getting up and down the pitch as a 'wing half' and then get back to cover the two centre backs. It's harder than ever to close down a wide player because of the protection given to strike...

Re: ⚽ Everton vs West Ham Utd: match thread (16/9)

Once again statistics underscore the problems, with only two teams - Manchester United and Cardiff - covering less total ground than West Ham's 422.47 km. On average they have allowed opponents to progress 19 metres up field in every passing sequence, almost three metres further than any other side...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Wolves: match thread (01/09)

We were easily 'out-tacticed'. Wolves did nothing special, they just played wide on both sides and our players had no idea how to fill the space and who to mark. The full-backs and wide players didn't play together. I suspect that we assumed that Sanchez and Wilshire would look after the defensive s...

Re: AFC Wimbledon v West Ham Utd: match thread (28/8)

Definitely not one for the kids but certainly a chance to get game time for underused players like Obiang and Cresswell.
I think this lot would be solid and do the job.

Adrian
Fredericks Diop Ogbonna Creswell
Sanchez Rice
Obiang
Perez Snodgrass
Hernandez

Bring on Yermo at some point for game time.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

As much as I love Noble he's just not dynamic enough for the modern game anymore and doesn't read the game sufficiently well to negate his lack of pace defensively. I'd try Sanchez and Wilshire in the middle for the next game. or Wilshire/Oxford Wilshire/Rice Lots of options to try out. Agree. I th...

Re: West Ham Utd v Bournemouth: match thread (18/8)

If he is fit and can last 90 I have to wonder if Obiang will start. IMHO it threw the whole side for a collective wobbly when he got injured back in Jan. Didn't realize what an issue it was until he wasn't there. Will be very interested to see what our new gaffer thinks of him. Me too. He's an enig...

Re: Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread (12/8/18)

Shocked at the managers thinking in playing 4 at the back away at this lot. We’ve needed an athletic disciplined defensive midfielder for 3 years.if you keep trying to paper overs then they’ll keep appearing. Disappointed with Anderson I thought Anderson worked hard and was pretty tidy - but yes we...

Anyone would have struggled against liverpool today but we could have done with someone like Seri - he looked the business for fulham yesterday.

I hope MP is working them hard on set-pieces - I reckon our best bet apart from an Arnie solo is our tricky new forwards winning free kicks around the box...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 2 days remaining

I don't want to jinx this, but given the speculation a few weeks ago, I think one of the better things about this window is that we have appeared to have kept our best player, a proven premier league goalscorer, at a time when at least a couple of the Big Clubs are in dire need of someone who can fi...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 7 days remaining

I think the theory that one player is gonna come in and change all that is flawed. What is going to change is approach and coaching. I think this is true. Bilic and Moyes were both good in different ways at building a team but neither gave you the sense that they were improving the players they had...

Fredericks and Felipe Anderson would be awesome and give us much needed pace and width.
Dm and CB next please.
Keep Arnie and Mario and Manu and it's all starting to look sweet.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???

My optimistic scenario is that Pellegrini means they know they will have to improve the overall set-up and invest in a moderate re-build. A younger up and coming manager might have accepted lower terms but surely Pellegrini will want substantial funds and support? I don't think it will get us to the...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2018- 80 days remaining

How Lanzini performs at the WC will influence our Transfer pot 100% If he has a great WC and becomes a 50M player, Sullivan will ship him on. We would however have a huge chunk of cash to go towards rebuilding the squad with Pellegrini. I love Lanzini but if hes sold for 50m + then we have to accep...

Re: West Ham United v Manchester City: Match Thread

It's quite important for reasons of morale and goal difference that this doesn't turn into a slaughter. But better teams than us have failed to keep the score down and even under 'defensive' Moyes we've been regularly tonked. I would actually think of playing Hernandez with Arnie (and Lanzini) simpl...

Re: West Ham Utd v Watford: match thread

Most of us thought we'd struggle today but that was impressive. We clearly deserved to win. Moyes managed to put out a positive formation and the players returning all fitted in well with a balanced system. I though Kouyate and Creswell were good and the fact we had three attacking players meant the...
