Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

PDc v Payet? For one season Payet was a magician. Stopped the opposition from fouling round the box because of his deadly free kicks. Could he have kept it up if he'd stayed? I doubt it and I think that's why he was so good. He knew he was just on a secondment till Marseille sorted out their finance...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

our current points total is 24 from 25 games. If we continue without improvement we'll probably get 36/37 points. So we're only asking for a small improvement to reach 40 points. If we get worse then we deserve to go down. My point is, we don't need a great escape a la Leicester who were on 17 point...

Re: Possible Takeover Bid ?

I have been following this thread and it seems to me more wishful thinking than actual 'take over'. Whoever may be successful in ' taking us over' will be only those seeking a profitable return!!! Do you disagree? I must admit, that personally, I see no profitable return in buying us for several mi...

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: MATCH POSTPONED (09/02)

Obviously this rearrangement is very inconvenient for lots of people. It is however the obvious sensible time to play it. (Not something normally said about football authorities) Exceptional circumstances caused the postponement of the game so it's bound to be a bit of a make do and mend situation. ...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Bringing Curbs into the debate really does highlight the underlying issue. Charlton decided mid-table monotony was not for them. Got relegated almost immeadiately. We decide to go big for pellers then realise he'd need backing with mi££ions EVERY summer, that's the way he works. (sulli obviously had...

Prob needs to get them back in sharpish.

Re: Protests against the board being planned

This is one area where west ham have lead the way for many years. We were one of the very first clubs to start charging and about thirty years ago it was £150 when most were free. Who says GSB don't respect our traditions!

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I agree, but let's get these Man City and Liverpool games out the way (which seems to be taking forever) and see what progresses. We've now had a break, the players will be refreshed, we have a full coaching team, and we have a couple of smart additions to the squad. We have a chance of earning poi...

Oh I would.

Just look at their options in central midfield...

Delph, Sigurdsson, Schniderlin, Gomes and Davies

We have...

Rice, Noble, Snodgrass, Sanchez, Wilshere
Agreed. Not much to choose between first 13 but then they have better quality after that

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United: MATCH POSTPONED (09/02)

Terrible decision to play this on the 19th. We should be pushing for the 11th March. We should be concentrating on getting the squad back fit and drilled plus push Man City into the middle of a worse fixture backlog. Don't think we can realistically push for a longer postponement just to **** City ...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

He's had just 6 league games so far. Out of those 6 teams, we've lost to 3 - and all three of them currently sit in the top 5. The 3 games you'd expect him not to lose, he hasn't lost. You could arguably say that we could/should have won all three - we probably would have if it wasn't for the flims...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Everton have spent significantly more money than us recently. So much so that I was reading that they are desperate for European football to increase revenue because they're currently way over ffp limits and have to get this back in order within the 3 year cycle. It highlights the difficulty 'the pr...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Palace, Newcastle and Southampton are more stable than West Ham? I have literally just finished reading how Southampton are keen to trim their wage bill in the summer and get rid of their four highest earners. Woy Hodgson has been making veiled threats in the press saying he can't keep performing mi...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

Just out of interest Pezza, why do you think it will be a low total to stay up? I would have thought in a season where one or two teams get loads of points, and everyone else is sharing points that the bottom the total will be higher? The results couldn't have gone better for us yesterday, and if S...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Pellegrini's problem was not failing to win games, it was losing games by the odd goal which we should have drawn. I don't want to sound like BFS but arsenal have only won the same amount of games (6) as us. The rest of their points have come through draws. How Pell might have used souchek seems a s...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

There's no must win games with 13 games left. Every game is worth three points and every game is winnable. Our remaining games are no more difficult than anybody elses. Liverpool and City away are obviously the worst but none of the others is beyond winning. If we concentrate on beating Watford, Bur...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I'm a bit puzzled as to why so many people are bickering over David Moyes abilty or lack of. He's the one who's got the job for now and we'll all know in May if he was up to it. I would say that even if he can't improve us he seems to understand the problems which has not always been the case with s...

Re: Weekends other games 8th and 9th February

If Jarrod Bowen was signed 11 hours earlier (agent money was the sticking point allegedly) does he come off the bench instead of Masuaku against Brighton and we see out a win? Some small margins are bad luck, some are systematic probabilities resulting from poor judgement. Our ownership excel in th...

Despite often talking **** I think IB is sort of half-right. If and it's fantasy I know, they were to make good on their on-field promises many would relent.
