Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Not sure using three Watford players to illustrate your point works. This is the team that have only started winning after having their 3rd manager in 4 months

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Randolph finished his time here in poor form but has since rebuilt his reputation. I remember when fab was at arsenal he was quite poor. Keepers do improve with age often. Foster is still brilliant at watford

Re: Lukasz Fabianski signs

Fab's injury was either gonna be a complete breakdown or a minor pull that he wasn't going to take a chance on. If it was the former I think he'd be done for the season, and we would obviously need another keeper. So perhaps it just IS a couple of weeks.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

So Moyes has now said, Fernandez was one for the future. Am I missing something here, when the need is acute for ready made players to jump straight into the first team, why would we be messing about signing another one for the future ? We have lots of previous for this:- Nouble, Gus Poyet's boy, F...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

He needs to retire this month and be remembered as the great man he was. I'm quite serious. His legs have gone. He needs a proper mate to tell him perhaps. Noble was poor on Friday but superb on new year's day. I can't see that qualifies him for instant retirement. Friday's game was ropey all round...

Re: Week end fixtures 11 and 12 Jan

I'm sorry I haven't got a fiver for every time andy carroll claimed to be over his injury problems. I've heard wilshere (remember him) say the same things too. Carroll's statements now being held up as gospel by the same people who accused him of stealing a living last year. I've got no axe to grind...

Re: Protests against the board being planned

We shouldn’t be just protesting outside the ground, we should be protesting outside the gates of Sullivan Manor. He really didn’t like it when the sign was hung in his front gates. Loathsome as he is I don't think this is an acceptable tactic. Guaranteed to present Sullivan as a victim in the press

Re: Sheffield United v West Ham United: Match Thread

It may sound silly as they beat us, but I thought Sheffu were poor. They gave us two gilt-edged chances which we failed to take, and scored through our cock-up. The last-gasp 'equalizer' would have been well deserved. But that's football!

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

My final comment on gedson fernandes: google Renato sanches, seems a similar situation. Fernandes will probably prove me wrong by ripping up the league for spuds, but it was always a punt.

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

I still have doubts about Newcastle. When people say 'look how hard our fixtures are' they all look hard when you're near the bottom. |When you're near the top they all look winnable.

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Much as fernandes sounded an interesting punt if his agent has managed to persuade spurs to take him I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. It seems a particularly cynical piece of business all round and may be exactly what we don't need.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

It's true the cheap children's seats do sometimes get left empty. My son-in-law has two of them and the youngest doesn't often go, however it does allow us to use it for an upgrade for any extra adults who want to come. (my older son is sometimes there). The whole 'audience' is different from when I...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

I often disagree with what people say on here, but I usually understand their arguments. I fail to see why we're nailed on to go down. Of course we are in danger but we don't need a massive upturn to stay up just a modest improvement. Most of our defeats (city aside) have been odd goal affairs which...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

Southampton got beaten 9-0 at home very re4cently. They lost at home to us. Since then they have won 3 and drawn 1. Looking at their squad you would not have expected that. Our future is entirely in our own hands

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

The tactics tonight worked fine until the Martin/balbuena cock up. We'd totally nullified their attack and a couple of attacking subs on the hour mark would have likely seen us home and dry. My only complaint was not subbing lanzini at halftime

Bit conflicted with this, it’s so clearly a board move to placate the fans.

This.
Transparently so.
Isn't a major complaint (valid) that the board don't care about the fans? So this is wrong as well. Joe's split his career between us and Chelsea so it's not a strange move.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions

Why is someone who wasn't a ST holder at Upton Park less of a supporter? It's the old 'you're not a REAL supporter stuff again. I'm gonna be a bit self-indulgent now and tell you my credentials. First game; Autumn 1968 when I was 17 v Man city 2-1 hurst, peters F.lee. The only home game I missed the...

And a new home!
I was only considering the size of the stadium. A reasonably successful West ham will fill a 60k stadium easily, whether that's the os or a mythical new stadium.
