Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Oh come on... Moyes has only been back in for 5 minutes... Can't lambast Pellegrini for not changing to suit personnel and then blast Moyes for doing that. If he's still doing it come mid-March then yeah you got a point but at the minute he needs to find the best formation/lineup and at least he's ...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Moyes has shown through his constant formation changing that he has no idea how he wants us to line up. Five games and five different formations. It's basically impossible to identify targets and recruit well/appropriately if you have a manager that has no idea how best to set up his team, or even h...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

I've honestly never seen Soucek play. Never really even heard of him before this link and supposed transfer. Signing a player in a position where we needed to make a signing of this level about four years ago, and where countless managers have tried and failed to get someone in, whether it be Carval...

Bowen has a year left on his deal, leeds are sniffing around. If we cant beat leeds for a bloke with 1 year left on his deal we might as well turn out the lights.
If offered the chance to work with a coaching great like Bielsa or David Moyes, who would you choose?

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Worth having a look at the players with contracts expiring soon. Patrick Burner. 22 year old Nice right back, contract expiring in the summer. There first choice right back for most of this season. Not sure what the deal is with his contract situation, but that's the sort of player I'd like to see u...

Re: The January Transfer Window 2020

Not been on here much as can't really be bothered - same sense of apathy as when Moyes came in last time. No excitement. But... Randolph will be fine. He'll play in the FA cup and save a penalty from De Bruyne in the final which we'll scrape 1-0. Trott is the future, so I can understand why we didn'...

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)

I think Pellegrini would actually be doing well to take Roberto out of the team here, given there are people already calling Roberto 'flapper' based on one notable error. The crowd starts getting on his back and he is absolutely buggered as a keeper, and if we really think Burnley are going to be to...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

I think the only thing I really want is to feel going into a game that we could take a point off the opposition at least if we play at our best. And I mean that regardless of opposition - even going toe to toe with the likes of Liverpool and Man City, I'd like to feel we could get a point out of the...

Re: Grady Diangana

Couldn't wait to get rid of Cullen in the summer. Not like we sold him, though - loaned him back to a club where he'd performed very well the season before and could settle straight back in to a team and management that he knows to get Championship game time. Pellegrini used him in pre-season a fai...

Re: January

Has Morelos sorted out his ill discipline from last season? 16 yellows and five reds (three straight, two from a pair of yellows) last season. That's the only question mark I'd have over him based on the last season and a half, but also the thing that will keep his value down a bit, I imagine. Newca...

I've also just taken Fornals out of my Fantasy Team, so I'm assuming he's going to set up every one of Haller's goals at the weekend.

Re: January

You're right, Cuenca - it was a footnote on that Guardian article on Husillos' future that I posted in the Pellegrini thread. Uncertainty over Conor Coventry’s future poses another problem for West Ham. The 19-year-old midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the season and he is unhappy with th...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

Yorks I am not sure that our NET spend was 90M though................. still it looks good on paper Fair enough - Transfermarkt has our net spend at £71m. Trouble is, as we all know now, transfer fees are spread across the length of the contract to allow for some very subtle 'creative accounting'. ...

Re: January

I see today that, as well as the Hinteregger rumour, we're being linked with Diego Llorente. 26 year old CB playing for Real Sociedad, reported £45m release clause.

Re: Grady Diangana

I think with Holland we should be handling him as we did with Grady last season - the odd 20-30 minutes here or there, a start if needed due to injuries or opposition. Then next season we get Grady back into the first team fold after a successful loan and of goes Nathan to someone in the Championshi...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

We did have a high net spend last summer, that much is true - not surprised to see us report a loss as a result. More than offset by the profits from the previous two seasons, though.

How an earth would any manager think he is a premiership keeper. Hopefully a 2 2 draw.
Here's a 10 minute answer.

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham United: Match thread (09/11)

Well, off the top of my head, I can think of 2 examples of Felipe Anderson sprinting the length of the pitch to chase Allan Saint-Maximin. Lazy analysis mate. Yep, there's often a number of times per game where Anderson is tracking back and getting closest to the man on the ball. It was referenced ...

Re: January

that would be the same Scott Parker who has Fulham in 8th in the Fizzy ? :? Sorry Cuenca, I mentioned him as a potential option and the hammerman bot tuned in. I've actually been quite impressed with Fulham this season - 8th, two points off 5th such is the close nature of the league, and a positive...

Re: January

Maybe that suggests we should be looking at some of those Championship managers who are doing well and know the league system. The likes of Bowyer, Parker, or Bowen all are ex-Hammers doing reasonably good managerial jobs (or better in some cases). Maybe even give consideration to the Cowley's, as f...
