Utterly bonkers, even if we win this someone needs to ask serious questions about this choice. Bring in Bess as a second option and use neither.

Just caught up with this it is utterly incomprehensible that we don’t have a spinner in the team. Joe seems to have lost the plot.

Did run in the winter (without Bob RIP)for the SL Tests (C4 had the Indian ones) , didn’t see it for the recent NZ Test though with Sky did have.

Re: Little things that irritate you

SD TV. I rarely turned the tv, happened to be at 1035 tonight. I turned to bbc 1 hoping to catch the weather or headlines. To be greeted with a sky message ‘we can’t offer this program in HD please return to 101’ so I do. To see some fussy picture in sd that belongs in 2005. Why does this exist in 2...

T20 blast starts tonight. Lancs early winners (Livingstone 94no off 58) , Hales out for 31 (17) on the Sky live game, it is criminal he is not being considered for England such talent (you have to wonder what Stokes did to be forgiven so quickly compare to others, even more so in the recent Twitterg...

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021

Well I am. The Kiwis laid down a real challenge... and we ran off. I see where you are coming from but consider the other side of the coin. It was not a one-off there is a second Test this week. Secondly, if it went wrong and we found ourselves 60-8 hanging on for the draw or worse lost. What damag...

The tweet was post by someone when under 16 apparently. Slippery slope!

Future England captain better be nice in the play ground, the ECB are watching!

MP gets involved - not sure if that helps him at all. Ollie Robinson: ECB 'has gone too far' in reaction to tweets, says Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden Dowden said the tweets were "offensive and wrong" but "also a decade old and written by a teenager". https://www.bbc.co.uk/spor...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/57379184 Robinson sent home from the squad and suspended pending an investigation. Do players have to fill out a "have you ever been a twat on social media?" form out before they take the field? If he replied no, then fair enough. If not, the ECB have m...

Re: Formula1

Hamilton is a racer, and his critics should remember that. The sensible thing should have been to take 2nd and 18 points over Max. But he went for it. Facebook likely. Hamilton 25 or nothing, I’ll have 25. Us mortals are wired differently. I’ll suggest Lewis will be emperious next race. The very be...

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021

I suppose on paper a draw is a good result for England. NZ are number one in the world and we had a depleted squad but you expect England at home to be more dominant. Now if England could bat like that in a first innings.. we might get somewhere. Sky kicking off for not going for it, but if they if ...

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021

Yet another ECB root and branch review? oh they like a review. Get the old boys some work! . We need to reduce the 18 counties, it has been obvious for years, but protectionism rules. I'd reduce it to 8-10 but they will never allow it. I'd also mandate a spinner in every side (and bowl at lea...

It wasn't that long ago that Crawley made 260 odd so he's definitely got talent but a number 3 for The Ashes? :? Sibley has practically no shots in his locker. It's been pretty painful seeing him chasing balls that have whistled past him... Neither are the future (at this point) , but we are at the...

Re: Cricket English Summer 2021

Why bother playing if 273 off 75 overs on a wicket which is still intact is a bridge too far? This is utterly cowardly. Worse than the several India debacles. We'd have been hanging on 50-6 if we had tried it today with his team. In a two Test series, the draw is the better bet if not the best view...
