Re: West Ham up for sale

Whenever Tony Cottee talks on the radio it's nothing but "I fear for the club", he gets on my nerves. He's got no money of his own, no business background and moans all the time. You might as well get someone from KUMB to head a consortium.

Re: Newcastle Away 10 January 2009

It should be showing up in your booking history. Log into your online account. Mine are showing but I don't have the actual tickets in hand yet.

Re: Newcastle Away 10 January 2009

I'm flying there and back on the Sat, didn't want to stay over and driving there and backon the day in the middle of winter isn't my idea of fun. Might borrow one of the planes oxygen masks to make the final few flight of stairs at the ground though

Re: Chelsea v West Ham Utd: match thread

What a blow, at least Collins scored a goal against that lot. It's about time our non scoring strikers started earning their wages.

Re: Kia, Sheff Utd, Duxbury, McCabe and arbitration

Tevez was not an ineligible player, West Ham properly held his registration from the outset. That is why it was not an automatic points deduction in the first place.

Re: West Ham up for sale

I heard the interview. Cottee was in full "I fear for the club" mode that's he often adopts. Anyway, he said BG should tell the fans what's going on. No mention of new owners etc.

Re: West Ham up for sale

You've completely missed the point of what I was saying so your reply is a bit of a waste of your time unfortunately. Nearly every club takes into account possible resale value when assessing whether to buy a player and for how much.

Re: West Ham up for sale

I'm not entirely convinced by the more extreme views posted saying the owner is merely looking to churn around players at a profit, assuming he wants a PL club of course. It's more economical to operate like that in the lower divisions, like Crewe or Ipswich. In which case why spend so much money bu...

Re: West Ham up for sale

Our defence has not become worse since the sale of Ferdinand and McCartney. This season we have played 11 games and conceeded 19 goals. The last 11 games of last season we had conceeded 23, McCartney played in them all and Ferdinand 9. We have not kept a clean sheet since Feb 08, not sInce Ferdinand...

Re: well done the boro stewards

No pleasing some people is there, the stewards near where I was made it clear that they wanted people in the front section to sit and anyone who wanted to stand go up to the upper tier. Can't say fairer than that, especially as the disabled gantry was immediatedly behind the lower section.

Re: Arsenal boss Wenger: I never wanted to sell West Ham's Upson

He was "educated" at Luton and Arsenal paid a £2m fee to buy him! Yet another player that Wenger is claiming credit for when in reality he's a product of another club's academy. :crest:

Re: West Ham up for Sale (Formely the DIC thread up til Pg15)

Everton have substantial debts. Simon Jordan is one of the few chairman who has put his own money into his club and ensured that the club owned their ground by buying out Noades. How is Winkleman a bad owner,if you put aside the issues of moving of the club he has transformed the MK Dons into a well...

Re: West Ham up for Sale (Formely the DIC thread up til Pg15)

The irony regarding the atmosphere at the play off semi was that it was a game that we hoped would lead to our promotion back to the premier league. Not too many in the ground that night saying, "Nooooooooooooooo I don't want to get promoted I want to stay right here in the fizzy pop."
