Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

Benitez would get booed here within a year. Negative manager obsessed with the other team. Going the opposite of Pellegrini would be dumb. There's truth in that but some acknowledgment of how the opposition are going to play would be handy. Even when Man City come to us you can tell they've done th...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

The most worrying thing is that all the main problems from yesterday are things that everyone on here has been banging on about for months. Why can't the bloke paid £7m a year see it then?

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Newcastle United: Match thread (2/11)

So many things wrong with that it's hard to know where to begin. Selection - Zab?? Squad - why did we let Diangana go on loan and get Ajeti in? Tempo - everything we do is soooo slow. Is that cos we got a big team mentality. It's so predictable, everyone behind and towards the ball, no one getting i...

Yeah, didn't get the substitutions yesterday, thought it just handed them the initiative.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Sheffield United: Match thread (26/10)

Thought we lost a lot when Anderson went off, Snod moved wide, and Lanzini played centrally. Not sure why he did that.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Sheffield United: Match thread (26/10)

Questions: 1) Why are we so crap at our throw ins? 2) Why do we set up so many chances for the opposition from our corners? 3) Why do we take a quick free kick, have 6 passes then pass it back to our keeper? 4) Whats happened to Mark Noble? 5) Why doesnt Haller run the channel's ? 6) Why have we on...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Sheffield United: Match thread (26/10)

We should have a lot more than the ball than them so Jack to start is a must for me, he has the potential to open them up from midfield. As Noble Man says, we have to match their fight first, we do that then we can play our football. This game has the potential to go very wrong from our last few pe...

Re: Manuel Pellegrini West Ham United’s 17th manager

Maybe he should point out that "big team mentality" is not turning up expecting to walk through the game like you're playing a bunch of 12 year olds. Maybe he should point out that a "big team mentality" is actually performing at the top of your game every week. Had a chance to go third about three ...

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham United: Match Thread

Just feel we're missing Antonio big time - even just to have as a sub. Anderson, Lanzini and Yarmo are all great but they all play in front, they're all passers not runners. It's just too much of the same and easier to nullify without someone to stretch the game. Yarmo was trying to get behind again...

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

The argument as to why Southgate might like Delph aside, such as athleticism..... er, can't think beyond that really. He is just another in a longish line of players with caps who are nowhere near as good as Nobes.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread

Don't want to bang on about it but the second Palace goal looked offside - not the scorer but the player who headed it back. Was that even checked? He seems clearly offside to me and probably what the linesman flagged for.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned already but the build up play to our goal (started deep in our half around the left back position) really was superb. I think more than half the team were involved.
everyone apart from the centre backs I think.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread

Without Antonio there's no one to stretch the game or get in behind. Fornals can do it a bit but not in the same way. Without that it's all in front and predictable.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Crystal Palace: Match Thread

We lost because we weren't good enough - and also that as a club, on every level, never ever ever fail, on any level, ever, when they've got a chance to actually do something - whether it's be decent for a few years or win a game - to let you down.

Nice goal.

My dad said he wasn't very quick, couldn't head the ball, always last on the training ground runs - best player he ever saw.

Ryan Fredericks received a minor knock in this yesterday’s game against Manchester United but looks set to be fit for the weekend game at Bournemouth.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Manchester United: Match Thread

I thought Fornals provided the legs we need without Antonio, and made us more balanced. I'm sure he'll improve his decision making and passing.
