Yes - their reliance on Ings is a weakness that can be exploited.

I bet he's having sleepless nights, worrying about our resolute defence!

They've also won 1.5x more matches than us, have a striker who has scored on a regular basis, recently, and a coach who went back to the drawing board, after a thrashing, and turned around their season.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend

As bad as we currently are, we are always a worse Team when he isn't playing. He ain't the problem. Given that the ridiculous state of our squad means that his replacement would probably have to be Sanchez*, I make you right! *Fornals having, of course, shagged, in a fivesome, Moyes', Gold's and Su...

Re: 2019/2020 Relegation Thread

It is misleading to suggest that, in some way, that performance last night was WHU saving itself for winnable matches. The argument here seems to be that we are realistically never going to go away to the Etihad and win the match, so we may as well cut our cloth accordingly. Putting that theory to t...

The game was over before it began, mate. Set us up with zero ambition and we didn't even look that bothered when we had a setpiece.
Aye, you're right. We are sleepwalking towards the drop.

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United:Match thread (19/02)

One of the weirdest matches I think I've ever seen. We were embarrassingly one-dimensional City played in second gear. The stadium was probably only half full. The game as a competition was over the second De Bruyne scored at Fabianski's near post. I think that the most lively I got was when Frederi...

I'm just relieved we're not starting Zabaleta.

We're leaving Manc with a point, lads and lasses.

Re: ⚽ Manchester City v West Ham United:Match thread (19/02)

This is a simple assignment.

We have to play with 100% defensive shape and determination, from the front to the keeper.

We have to trust our younger players, because the 30+ year olds will not have the running in their legs to deal with our defensive needs.

A 0-0 tonight is akin to a victory.

Re: Little things that irritate you

On driving, the standard imo has dropped considerably in the last decade or so. Driving used to be a pleasure when I first started but these days it's sheer purgatory largely because of the idiots behind the wheels. How some of them passed their tests is mind boggling. 100% We drove over to Essex o...

Re: Man City (Non-WHU)

City = the elite, in my view. The only difference between them on one hand and United/Liverpool on the other, is that City simply don't have the same levels of support, either in their home town, across the country or across the globe. Painting them as some kind of eager amateurs is, for me, an amaz...

Re: Man City (Non-WHU)

That's an unusual definition of 'ambition'. I would understand it slightly better if it was, for instance, a family of City fans spending a Euromillions win. It is in fact a Middle Eastern ruling elite spending their oil revenues in a globalised market. They did that. The rules then got changed. It'...

Re: The Relegation Rebuild & Casualties

We are already deeply missing Anderson, who, like Antonio, can actually bring the ball to the opposition in any kind of menacing fashion. Without them both, we look like we are simply set up to concede as few as possible, without any real outlet of player pressing forward, ball at feet. The real pro...

Re: Man City (Non-WHU)

City were already at the top table (and title winners) by the time the most recent version of FFP was agreed. , They had got to the point through an injection of funds from overseas, starting with signing of Robinho at the very end of (iirc) a January window. In some respects, they didn't emulate Ch...

We will be stuck with the rest, unless Diop has a magician for an agent.
