Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

If it was just about clean sheets, I’d be joining that odd lad on here who covers his in jizz while thinking about Sam Allardyce I missed the away day in question because of a KFC bucket & the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had Not related to anything that last bit Not 'just about' clean sheets, bu...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

I base a lot of my opinion on managers purely based on games swerved Proph - that last season under him was turgid - coming away from a 1-0 home win against Liverpool feeling like we as support had been cheated... It felt like the bloke stole whole weekends no matter what the result He cheated you ...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Only those who see relegation as some kind of welcome catharsis for the club could actually want him to do badly, but his tactics etc are still open to scrutiny. His coaching performance of course has to be viewed in context, and he's been able to make a couple of interesting signings. I've not been...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Sneer all you like, but we are in a similar situation to how Everton were when he went there. And Everton have not been as good since he went. It wasn't intended as a sneer; more light-hearted than that. You're never going to persuade me he's any kind of progressive coach, in the present day, but t...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Good to see you are so respectful towards other clubs, their achievements and the history of the game! Why is it disrespectful to note their present position in the game, in general terms? It would be more disrespectful if I weren't aware of the achievements that only my grandparents (who are now l...

Re: Call the Heddlu !

It might be my imagination, but does Wales have a far lower crime rate than anywhere else in the UK? Unless I am very much mistaken, I haven't heard of a single case of knife crime, murders, or any serious crime that has taken place there. So why is this? Is it because, a couple of major cities asi...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

FFS, no matter what you say, Preston North End will ALWAYS be one of the important clubs in English football. They have won multiple league titles and were the team of Tom Finney! Just like Sunderland will always be important, even while they are in the doldrums at the moment. Righto. So important ...

Preston were important when he coached them?

Sunderland were *****; you've just said as much yourself.

He's been employed in the top flight, like Big Sam.

By the time we play Liverpool we'll have been nearly a month unbeaten. :scarfer:

Re: The Board - Does Anybody Like 'em?

OK. but what I mean is that people doing an 'ok job' are more likely to be tolerated, rather than actually liked, still less loved.

Its fairly clear, as much as this point is going to lead to the thread being derailed, that the job being done is far from ok.

Thus, nobody likes them!

Re: The Board - Does Anybody Like 'em?

Does 'doing an ok job' amount to much, though, when it comes to football?

Alan Curbishley, after all, did 'an ok job' and his time is remembered with almost a total absence of any fondness, notwithstanding that the bloke was truly one of us, in terms of his past playing career.

It is giving us more time to assimilate new signings, so must surely be a (modest) positive that the game is postponed.

Re: The Big Sale

Whoever we sell, two things realistically are part of the package 1. We won't get as much as we - as fans - would expect for any given player, and 2. What we get won't be properly invested in the squad anyway, unless we opt for another Allardyce-esque appointment (he at the very least had contacts a...

Re: David Moyes - 18th Permanent Manager of WHUFC

Arsenal are average this season, Chelsea are a Jeckyl and Hyde outfit and Wolves are good, but certainly not great. Southampton have improved mightily in recent months, but they also looked in severe danger of relegation at one point. To suggest it is beyond the realms of possibility that we can pi...
