Re: Declan Rice

He wasn't great, but I quite liked Henri Lansbury. Fond memories of him going in goal that time against Blackpool. I think it'd be funny if Rice went to City. Their fans have been annoying me these past couple of weeks. They need to learn how it feels to court a player for absolutely ages and then g...

Re: Getting internet to a garden room

I use a Sky Q mini box, hard wired with cat6. Cable through the front of the house, over the top of the roof run behind the drain pipe. Down the back drain pipe then 120ft to the main cave buried in the flower beds in some conduit. Did you do this yourself? Or get someone in? Me and my son and I ha...

Re: Getting internet to a garden room

We had this done recently. House is mid-terrace so a pretty messy job. Had to run ethernet from the router (fibre comes in at the front of the house) under the floorboards, and round the back of the kitchen units, out into the garden. A right pain, but worth it. Our plan b was to run it alongside a ...

Re: Beer/Lager/Cider/Spirits/Wine.. Thread

That aftertaste is Diacetyl which isn't too bad of a taste on English ales if allowed in moderation and Czech pilsner does have that as part of a characteristic but too much and it just doesn't taste good. I've noticed lately that Pilsner Urquell has more of that in there which ain't good. Like you...

Re: Beer/Lager/Cider/Spirits/Wine.. Thread

Pilsner Urquell in Asda which I didn’t find as drinkable. Heresy to some, but I'm not a Pilsner Urquell fan either. Which is annoying as you can pick up 6 packs canned a couple of weeks ago for nothing in supermarkets. I know it's meant to be hoppy, but it has that funky aftertaste and aroma that i...

Re: The Relegation Thread

Nothing at all against Everton (aside from the awful views in the away end at Goodison) but it's just interesting when big clubs go down and seeing how they fare, like fish out of water. Villa, Newcastle... I'm sure loads of people would have found it funny had we gone down again.

Likewise. Especially not a Paqueta one with that godforsaken run-up.

Re: The Relegation Thread

I remember Boro, with Southgate coming out onto the pitch and applauding travelling fans. Can't readily remember any other recent occasion where our result (in the Boro case a victory) directly led to the opponent getting relegated. This season, we could, simply by not being beaten, do for both Lee...

Re: West Ham players you have really disliked

Matt Upson. I was a big fan of his until the day Tomkins ****ed up one game not long after he made his debut, and our 'skipper' just left him. No arm around shoulder, no pick me up, just blanked him. Will Young lookalike ****. Was that in the Wolves game with the paper clappers? I disliked a lot of...

That used to be contract brewed by Shepherd Neame, now it's brewed in Italy (in the Peroni Brewery in Padova, Italy), it's terrible stuff. Surprised they don't use a site here now like Fullers or Meantime. Not big enough I suppose. Don't actually mind Asahi lager. Nice big bottles, pretty boring bu...

Re: betting sponsors banned

Glad this has happened. As an aside - even though nearly half the teams in the league have a betting sponsor on their shirt, it seems like every article I read about this will have a West Ham player as the featured image at the top. Did anyone else notice that? Maybe I'm being paranoid... https://i....

That game was so enjoyable. I think we were still potentially on for automatic promotion at that point? I was convinced we'd do it after that. Worked out ok in the end I suppose.

Re: Weight Lifting

Delay bone decay and muscle atrophy by lifting heavy weights :muscle: Yes - pretty much what I'm going for. Don't do quite so much cardio these days, try to include more strength stuff - sometimes just bodyweight exercises and HIIT classes, other days deadlifts and squats. Nothing too heavy - just ...

My drinking increased during lockdown because it was the only thing that distinguished night from day Same. I was an avid beer drinker anyway, and big craft beer fan, so it really was the perfect storm. Nothing to do, stuck at home, extra cash because I wasn't going out, doing a boring as f**k job ...

Re: Sobriety

I cant help wondering what an alcoholic drink actually does positively for me. I really like the headspace I get from having a long walk and a pint in a pub at the end, or a beer and a catch up with a mate, or cracking a can of some stupidly strong IPA in my living room after a long week... The pro...
