Re: Little things that irritate you
Acknowledged by whom though? It's highly subjective and I certainly don't place a great deal of value on the votes of his cronies or colleagues. I could probably find a fair few replacements among the cab drivers of London alone who could do what he does. Not you clearly. Those who vote or judge the...

[ I think it's the same fallacy as says corporate execs and bankers have to have their pay accelerated so much over the last 10-20 years because there's an international competition for the top ones. Really? There are 20,000 executives who can all just **** off at the drop of a hat and work anywhere...

He is a typical Kiwi warrior, athletic, brave and never gives up. Reminds me of Martin Keown at his best, who I rated as player.NW5hammer wrote:I love Winston - partly for his goals - but he's more Richard Dunne than Franz Beckenbauer. But on that basis well worth giving a decent long-term contract.

Re: West Ham vs Aston Villa - Match Thread
I want to smash this lot. I think Villa are a terrible team. Take Benteke out of it, and they are as poor a side as you'll see. 3-1 win. With Nolan back to scoring ways, along with Downing who is sure to get some stick. :crest: Vila were a terrible team, they are most certainly not that bad now. Th...

Re: Times really are a changing! (Winston Reid)
I don't think he is. It's partly to do with the madness of the current market but I think he's closer to £20 million than £6 million. I hope we keep him but he would improve Arsenal's defence and also the Mancs (which is where I honestly think he may end up). He is that good.
The buying club...

[ ] Oh for goodness sake. Once can be good fortune. You don't beat top sides twice in a matter of weeks without having something about you. You could be very disappointed if you underestimate Villa. You can be sure Allardyce won't
I agree, Villa have come on bundles since last season, they p...

Re: Swansea v WEST HAM UNITED - Match Thread
Soldado looked the nuts on TV at the weekend. Brilliant goal and some good all round play. That said Swansea are made for Sam tactics. They pass the ball slow, push up around the play and have limited ability players up top. The away last season was a suicide mission, they did little to gain a 2-0 l...

Currently - The Book of Dave - Will Self. Very interesting satire on religion. Keith Richards Autobiography. Today I will mostly be taking Heroin and all the credit from the Stones. Judas Pig - A completely different book of Dave. Fings Ain't What They Used To Be - Biography of musical theatre geniu...

Two things, Sat at 5.30?? That's just ****, we should be in the pub talking about the game not providing audience background for a TV show. Also, great as Saturdays result was, I think Sam will at least change the formation, and in my opinion the line up. We will play with a centre forward, Petric i...

Re: Winston Reid
Reid is a typical Kiwi sportsman, and he is becoming a top centre half. We are lucky to have three very good players for central defence. Tomkins for England for me at his current performance he cant do any worse than those two lumps.

Just read Sam pre match for the Hull, Downing is fit and with the squad, Joe Cole is a week away, Carroll still in Belgium. Morrison will start by the sound of it.

Excuse my ignorance (I struggle to make the midweek games anyway, so usually miss the first couple of rounds of the CC) but just seen the highlights - was this RVT slapping the badge after he scored? Same bloke who handed in a transfer request three weeks ago? Yes, same fella. He doesn't want to le...

Re: WEST HAM UNITED v Cardiff City - Capital One Cup 3rd Round
Cheers for the replies guys  Seems a bit of mixed feelings about Collison & Vaz Te, but a fair amount of positives to draw. They were the 2 players (along with Tomkins, but I've no doubts about Tonks...) I was most interested to hear how they'd performed, as I do feel both still have the ...
