Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

That's just not true though - in a good company, with a good boss this might be the case; but in an exploitive company (think the likes of 'spoons, Sports Direct, large swathes of fast food and retail) or with a dick of a boss you're up against favouritism, whims, politics etc Totally correct, my f...

Re: Michail Antonio

Yesterday?? He has been doing it for almost 18 months now getting worse and worse It's pathetic to watch a man of his size go down so easy and theatrically It is standard for forwards to try and "buy" fouls these days, I don't like it but they all do it. What I cannot understand from Mond...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

Same as with Starmer after Corbyn (although I don't think I'd describe Corbyn as an idiot, exactly) - a more central shift leads to, more often, a better public view of a political party. Blair and Cameron both did it pretty well in terms of their election manifestos, with Blair promising no 'tax a...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

they are not mutually exclusive, but we likely all 'lean' one way or the other, same as managers will In your world maybe, but most don't lean more one or the other, I take each for what it is and set that in the wider context of influences. Just for kicks, I think we lined up 4-2-3-1 with Downes i...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

All true But when you are playing against a team who will park the bus the best way to create chances is to make sure you have more attacking players on the pitch who have the tools to unlock them, and play in a way to achieve that - not play three defensive orientated midfielders (one who who can'...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

Pete on the Moyes thread posted something which to me, sums up the entire discussion perfectly... "It's Cavaliers v Roundheads. I guess we all learn towards one or the other. I value hard work, discipline, good organisation. Others place more priority on skill and flair. Moyes seems to me to b...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

I think we did have a fair go, what was lacking was the final ball. Quite often, Cresswell was on the overlap and had the chance to cross, often Benrahma had the ball in the inside left position with runners ahead of him, quite often Rice and Downes had the ball in promising positions with runners ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

How about rested? The bloke looks tired and so low on confidence. Had the ball in the center of the pitch last night, could've passed out wide to a man in space, looked up and played a simple 5 yard pass which killed our movement. If i didnt know better it was like he was scared to try. Not sure if...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

Similarly, the assumption that those asking for Soucek to be dropped are looking for 'footballing Shangri-La' and not just a small improvement to our ball retention capabilities as a team is also pretty crazy. That's handy, because as I am sure you know the thing about Shangri La is that it is an i...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

I wished I had lived when we played blinding football every week and the stadium rocked every game but believe me I have seen more games like last nights than those. 100% - This idea that there is a footballing Shangri-La out there and all West Ham need to do is drop Soucek to see it is batshit cra...

Re: The Sunak Government 2022-

I think you're misreading an idea to create positive sentiment for complaining about someone being paid a salary. Now, a society which allows one person to hoard £730m...... India. Richie's wealth is far less, and he worked for every penny. The £730m oft bandied about is the share value of his wife...

Re: ✍ Welcome to West Ham, Said Benrahma

Would have paid to see that performance on its own, utterly brilliant, he got the goal he so richly deserved but I would have loved it to be from open play. This performance has been coming for while now. I have been a critic of Benny when he fluffs his lines but that is getting rarer and rarer.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United vs AFC Bournemouth: match thread

Can't believe some of the viewpoints here - I'll take a routine 2-0 against Bournemouth every day of the week. Thought we looked great first half and should have won the match by 3 or 4 Positive + Thought the 433 shape worked really well first half. Rice, Benrahma, Soucek all able to take the ball ...

Tough game, our form is ever so slightly better over the last five games. EDIT - Points total is better over the last five games.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

The owners and shareholders won't be placing much Weight on our performance in the Conference League if we remain down in the relegation mix for long Our results in the Conferemfr league have been decent but we haven't played a team that would get out of the Championship yet. Given the standard of ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

That's what will be concerning the owners, both present and future, when they look at the table. It would if we had struggled in Europe, we haven't. Thurs/Sunday is a tough gig Mon/Thurs is almost impossible to balance. Ok we got an extra two days rest from the league but now have to play again on ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I have to agree and would add that under Moyes, flair players do not seem to be able to express themselves well. Benny to start with and now Paqueta, who is virtually world class, seem to struggle. Not saying he's a bad manager but his 'style' does not foster attractive, clever football imo. This s...

Re: ⚽ Liverpool v West Ham Utd: match thread

I’ve not seen anyone suggest we go all out away at Liverpool. It’s once again an example of the extremity of modern society where the concept of a happy medium has dissipated. Going to Anfield and waiting to lose is as bad as going all out attack. All most people are asking for is a little more pur...
