Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Block 231. Stayed in my seat for about ten minutes after the whistle, taking a few pics and took a few more pics on the concourse. Followed the crowd and directions to Stratford International, jumped in the car, and was in my front door in Forest Gate at 10:20pm. Completely painless. What was the t...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
From what I have seen and read (I didn't go myself last night) it seems that if you were in the lower tier towards the corner you would be happy with your view, most other areas felt a little too far away. The way I see it is, yes its a great looking stadium, in a good park, and all the rest of it, ...

30 days to find five players http://kumb.com/article.php?id=3787" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; That is a very good read  We have got plenty to do until the end of the window to keep pace with the other teams a...

For me try and restore as close to the first 11 as possible with players playing in their correct positions:
Adrian
Byram Burke Reid Page
Noble Kouyate
Feghouli Valencia (Tore if fit) Antonio
Carroll

Re: A £20 million plus striker: The summer transfer thread
Agree, the one position we definitely do not need any more additions in is AM. (Payet, Lanzini, Tore, Antonio, Feghouli)Dazzaboy wrote:Isn't a yew a left winger ?
I think he would be a great addition, I'd be very happy but do we need another winger ?

In theory we have Hendrie (on loan at Blackburn, was on loan with Southend last season) but nobody really knows what level he is.jacko wrote:Does it not strike anyone as odd that we have absolutely no replacement for Cresswell at left back?

Re: NK Domzale v West Ham Utd: EL Q3 Match Thread
Would it have hurt to play a right back at right back and a young left back at left back? I know it's easy to say in hindsight but I think we all saw this coming. Not rocket science is it, playing players in their natural positions. Same thing happened with England in the summer. I wonder if the He...

Clearly Antonio at RB didn't work last season and doesn't this season. If he can't defend against Domzale how will he defend against the likes of Mahrez, Sanchez, De Bruyne and Hazard who I'm sure will all be switched to Alan to target Antonio. 1st choice RB needed desperately.

Re: A £20 million plus striker: The summer transfer thread
With Sakho going that leaves us with just 2 (expected to be 1 soon) senior striker heading into a potentially 45/50 game season, slightly concerning with only a month to go. In my opinion the club should building on the quality we have and trying to make use of them, for me Sakho is still our best a...

Re: Hodgson: just a poor man's Graham Taylor
But isn't the point that playing him out wide he needs more than just pace? He needs to be able to dribble past his man, deliver a cross, track back to assist with defence, maybe even deliver a tackle and dilligently mark a player from time to time. Would you say Vardy had any of those qualities in...

Re: Hodgson: just a poor man's Graham Taylor
I think the general malaise is down to the fact it's been a long time since a great England performance. A ridiculously long time actually. The last ten years have barely mustered a great or memorable England game. We didn't play at 2008, 2010 was dreadful, There was the Sweden game at 2012 but har...

Re: Hodgson: just a poor man's Graham Taylor
We appear to be far too reliant on full backs to provide the width and although they can do it I'm not sure they are quite good enough to be our outlet. Sterling is our only out and out winger in the squad. If we go 4-3-3 i find it harder for the likes of Delle Alli, Vardy and Rooney to fit in. I t...

Re: Hodgson: just a poor man's Graham Taylor
I just cannot support a side with five Spurs players in it. I don't understand how any West Ham fan could. And here's a scenario to ponder. England versus France, quarter final, last minute of extra time, sores level. Payet lines up a free kick. Would you want him to score? I would. Really!? You ha...

Re: A £20 million plus striker: The summer transfer thread
Wilson would be a decent addition (as a squad player), he was on fine form in the lead up to his injury, albeit a bit of a gamble.
Not too sure on Ritchie mind, but he can't be any worse than Moses so I guess it is an improvement.

Great game and atmosphere, a proper way to end our time at Upton Park and personally for me, my time as a STH.

I won't miss the sh*t facilities, lack of staff/bars in the TBL and poor options of food and drink.

I agree. In fairness, I don't think he's done that bad a job this season, they are very good at the back, had Depay proven to be a good signing they might have been above City and all the other usual suspects in the top 4 this season.mushy wrote:I have a sneaky feeling that LVG will come good for them.

Moses is a show pony. When was the last time he offered decent end product? Valencia is sh*t. When was the last time he offered decent end product? I don't know who's worse but I'd rather have neither personally Bang on. Valencia is shocking, I would have rather played Collins and moved Antonio fur...

Re: what you will miss and wont miss about The Boleyn Ground
i might occasionally take a trip down green street to take in the sights just to remind myself and not forget the place I wonder how many others will do the same. It will be gutting to walk down there and not see the stadium, same as not seeing the top of the west stand from a distance on the roads...
