prophet:marginal wrote: Tue Dec 28, 2021 7:09 pm In what ways was he awful?
He was consistently out of position leaving Diop to have to cover for him and thus leaving space in the penalty area. His distribution was poor and he offered little going forward. Compare and contrast with Coufal on the right. IMHO of course.

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

Johnson had a decent, if not perfect, match, imo. That little play against his opponent, to win a goal kick, shows how he has already started to develop game intelligence. Has already started it, of course, but this is a player who will play the entirety of his league career in the top flight. Thou...

Re: ⚽ Watford v West Ham Utd: match thread

Rice is the only midfielder to have given the defence real protection and he is not playing. Defending when the opposition are attacking does not start at the back four. If there is any player that needs to "redeem himself" in this game it's Soucek who has been poor all season. No doubt h...

Traffic back to deepest Essex was shocking. Should have stayed at home, like half the ST holders did.
As I've always said, if Yarmo's the answer, wtf is the question?

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd vs Southampton: match thread

My observations from our poor run, most of it pretty common sense: 1. We miss our first choice back line (bar Coufal) badly. Just goes to show that when given a decent run in the side the likes of Diop, Dawson and Masuaku aren’t adequate enough back up. A centre back is an urgent priority in the Ja...

Re: Little things that irritate you

I have a double light switch in my hall, it’s right by the front door. It’s not the side by side type of light switch; it’s an old fashioned - one switch above the other gig. Two Bakelite light switches on the same wooden plinth. One switch turns the hall light on, the other switch turns the upstai...

Re: Little things in life that make you smile

After the horrendous abuse I was right close to just after the Arsenal 2nd goal, I walked round to the opposite side of the stadium to meet a girl who was in the home end. Got chatting to some random Arsenal fan who at first assumed I was supporting them. Great chat, he was properly raving about Ri...

Don't think previous matters this season. We've been tearing up records all along. Saying that, I'd take a draw!

I think people are missing a trick here. Mik wasn't given a bullet at half time, Bowen was told to get closer to him up front. Hence the Bowen goal and glorious near miss. Masterstroke from the Moyesiah and backroom staff!
