Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Yeah, my opinion. That Chelsea side was stocked with power, pace and athleticism. I didn't find them that pleasing to watch for a lot of the time in all honesty but they did bully teams into submission. I just think there's a separation to be had. I don't like watching us, said that a few times, bu...

Re: Ben Johnson
Thought someone relatively well connected to him posted a couple of pages back he wasn’t asking for anywhere near 65k a week, but has been let down by the club and won’t be sticking around. It was someone who had claimed to have actually spoken to him (see 2 pages back) rather than something that m...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
Sorry that's not how I see it at all - he goes through contortions not to criticise the officiating, so much so that the presenter has made a thing out of winding him up about it.

If you take a step back into realism that's quite a high bar, all things considered

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
As I understand it PSR is focused on the bottom line and wage ratios etc. I don’t believe it has any relevance for a teams cashflow, as the ‘cost’ of Paqueta to Man City is determined by the value of his transfer and length of his contract, not when the payments are made. That being said, generatin...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Says his contract. Any offer of £85m has to be accepted by us. The point is that to trigger these release clauses (if it's standard form) the bid has to be £85m cash up front on the table. If it's anything else then it's a negotiation, and in these PSR-days even Man C would struggle to come up with...

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25
Stitching up loyal supporters by sodding around with the concession tickets makes hardly any dent in that difference to the finances. It also relies on there being a queue of people out there willing to step forward and pay the new prices. Problem is, I don't think there's much of a queue. It could...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread
I’ve no idea. I thought offside decisions weren’t for the ref Doc there's no question but that the player was offside. The issue is "was he interfering" which is a subjective decision, not one of fact. That's why the VAR didn't rule it out, it recommended the ref go to the monitor and see...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
I had all this from the contingent I know who support this lot, just before the away match. Silence after the match this week, of course, but they're aware, after all, that their journeys in Europe next season are off the bat of our endeavours. They're always that way. After the away game I had one...

Re: ✍ Welcome Edson Álvarez
He was sat right behind me as I’m back of 113 and he was front row upper tier 213. He was literally engrossed in the game despite loads of fans trying to get his attention. But I can confirm he did indeed stand up :crossed: Also apparently Pogba was in attendance for whatever reason. He and Zouma g...

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25
Most clubs run at a loss, bank-rolled by benefacting owners and/or tv. That also don't rely on income from their customers (fans) as the primary source of income. I'd say that makes them very different from other businesses. They may not be exempt from inflation but most owners are in it for the be...

Re: Season ticket renewal 24/25
Just the home games - no cup games thrown in. The club have got to the point now where they will not mind if the season ticket numbers drop slightly so they will push their luck with the price increase. They sold too many S/Ts when we moved (and priced the lower bands too cheap) and clubs need more...

Came in for some rough treatment last night and I did wince a couple of times when he got clattered. But he rose above it and must have made a real impression on everyone, even the Saka fan club.

Apparently Johnstone was down to start last night but suffered an injury to his arm in training and was sent home. U-21 keeper was bumped up as a result and Pickford started when he wasn't due to.hammerman11 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:34 am ...
