Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

Looking back at the goal last night the following points struck me on reflection:- While Cornet's pass wasn't the greatest someone with a bit of pace may have have been able to at least challenge for the ball and therefore prevent the events that followed. If you watch Zouma's position Mavropanos m...

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

The paper claims they had 5 shots on target, but in truth they barely threatened us. I thought they were a mixed bunch and that some of them could barely kick a ball straight. This is the other annoying thing.Bristol City were absolute gash last night. If it was some inspired performance by a lower ...

Re: Bristol City v West Ham United :Replay match thread

I was at the game and I am confused by the formation. Why were we playing wingbacks with 5 at the back?It was pretty obvious that BC didn't offer much in attack and it indirectly led to giving away the goal as Mav was in a right back position when it should have been Coufal.Couldn't we have just had ...

Re: January transfer window

To be fair hasn't he only signed Scamacca in this spell? We could extend it to people he's played up front and add Bowen but even that's a tiny sample size. How can you forget Sir Daniel Ings?I get the vibe from DM that strikers just aren't his proirity.Converting wingers seem to give him the horn.

Re: January transfer window

Which is why a loan (try before you buy) might be the best option. According to media reports we've put a block on Ings leaving due to a striker shortage. Ings is who we're replacing this window. Some of the names linked might not be inspiring if we're looking at it from the point of view of them b...

Re: Premier League sack race

I sometimes envy the way Mourinho always gets sacked... Always a good pay check on the way out, and a few months of rest and relaxation before going to work again.... Its his best trait. It is comical to the point that it almost seems preordained- "I have had a couple of months off with my lat...

When it comes to strikers,I am not sure Moyes has the greatest judgement. Not exactly covered himself in glory in the ones bought whilst he has been here.

Re: Everton FC: 10 Point Deduction Confirmed for PL FFP breach

Football becoming more & more like F1 every day. Not only can we not celebrate goals like we used to, we will now end up waiting 6 months to make sure we aren't going to be docked 10points here or 5 points there. FFP is a farce, designed by the big clubs to stop any upstarts coming through and ...

Re: January transfer window

Journalist Dean Jones is suggesting .Moise Kean on Loan from the old lady Weirdly I quite like the idea of this.He fits the bill physically and is the right age and if supplied adequately by our Holy Trinity, I can see him doing well.I think people forget that Antonio is a pretty average finisher b...

Re: January transfer window

I certainly don't think spending a large amount on say the wrong player in Jan is the right thing to do. We already have a squad of players not fit for purpose. I don't think this window is easy at all. Teams don't want to loose the best players and if they do there is a replacement chain. Moyes li...

Re: January transfer window

We aren't signing Braithwaite or anyone else this window for 40m plus. We're not going down so job done this season in Sullivan's eyes. Expect him to fire up the freeserve dial up to email some agents and unlock Tim's passport round about January 29th to get some bodies in. Absolutely. This idea tha...

Re: ✍ Flynn Downes

Soucek is also a very good defensive midfielder in Moyesball: he's very good in the air, he tracks runners and holds the shape well. Downes can't/didn't do those things for us. If we’re looking for an alternative to Soucek, I'd suggest we'd want a Carrick. Whereas Downes offers us a more Lomas type...

Re: Divin Mubama

Oh no doubt about it, our recruitment has failed massively. I would be curious to know how Broja would have worked out. Likely wouldn't have had that injury playing for us either. I would have really liked to see Broja at West Ham.He reminds me of Arnautovic a bit.Likes to chuck himself about and h...

Re: Divin Mubama

Like all of our youngsters, I want to see them do well for us and make the breakthrough, but this lad still has such a long way to go. He just seems to even lack the basics of any kind of vision, awareness, or decision making. You see in a youngster sometimes "I can see what you're trying to d...

Re: Divin Mubama

Haller who can barely get off the bench in Germany and Scamacca who doesn't start in Italy either. They were terrible signings because they're not good enough, nothing to do with the system and everything to do with poor scouting and due diligence. Neither were, as is the norm for us, first choice ...

Re: Divin Mubama

The fact that we are even having the discussion about Mubama is symptomatic of our catastrophic striker strategy of the last few years regarding transfers. It is so idiotic that it defies belief.Spent big on Haller who then failed due to inability to play the system then literally replicated it with ...

Re: ✍ Flynn Downes

I would really like to see Downes given a chance in Soucek's place. For me,the fact that he can actually pass the ball is far more important than Soucek's goal-threat which is about the only thing Soucek brings to the team.Soucek is a lovely bloke but a vastly limited footballer and I think we could ...

Re: West Ham United vs Brighton & Hove Albion: match thread

If Cornet won't get a chance then we would be stronger with Cresswell at LB and Emerson LW than either Benny or Fornals playing there at this moment in time. Really hope Mubama gets some time rather than them too, it's baffling how they can be bad so many times this season and offer nothing yet kee...
