It's not unique to the young ones. Generally it's unique to those with a more limited understanding of the game.Estuary wrote:
I hope it isn't so but I fear we are breeding a legion reactionary idiot supporters.
Controversial but true.

Here we go again. Safely in 10th place and people talking about giving youngsters a go and resting players. Resting them for what? And even more unbelievably starting Perez and Caroll. How about we try and win the thing and it you want to rest some players do it against Arsenal I agree with the sent...

Re: ⚽ West Ham Utd v Brighton & H/A: Match Thread (02/01)
It was disappointing to lose two goals from corners , there was nothing Fabianski could have done with the first but he possibly could have done better with the second . Fabianksi has been superb all season but he is a target for the opposition at set pieces and we have conceded quite a few based o...

Re: Andy Carroll
He was crap, but then Arnie looked crap in that first half too. Our biggest issue was Obiang, who next to Rice as a natural midfielder offered absolutely nothing to the players in front of him. I have said before I wouldn't start Carroll in any circumstances...he's a great option from the box to ope...

I saw the ghost of a future West Ham team appear in front of my eyes in that second half....we need to be focusing our next few windows on getting a right back ready for first team football and a centre midfielder understudy to take the pressure off Noble - who is still the only player we have had p...

Most of the team were awful on Sunday.
Showed his class. Head and shoulders above the rest at doing what he does.
Who else is going to find those passes.

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???
I keep asking myself, why at 82 years of age and a net worth of £450m would David Gold continue to want the stress of running a business ? Why not move to a mansion in the sun, relax, do sod all all day and just enjoy his money? I'm not being unkind, only realistic, but its not like he has that man...

The match before he got injured? His movement against Newcastle was fantastic, set Chicha up once and created space for the first goal.S-H wrote: Not knocking him at all, but when was his last good performance? I'm struggling to remember.

Re: ⚽ Burnley FC v West Ham Utd: Match Thread (30/12)
I also thought the extra day rest and the rocket Burnley had from Dyche showed on the day. We did ever so well to get 3 points against Southampton in a game many of us didn't give us a chance in. It may have looked comfortable but the score went right to the very end and the fatigue and lack of temp...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I get what you’re saying, but though the core support now lives away from the area, a huge proportion of it was born or had very close links to E13 and it’s surroundings. When you went to a home game, you we’re indeed by and large coming home. Even those that support us despite not being from East ...

Re: Declan Rice
Tony Cascarino in the Times is now saying what I said a few weeks ago...Rice is already a better player than Eric Dier. Tend to agree with that. No doubt it's why Gareth is watching closely. I made the comparison with Romeu last night. Southampton wouldn't let him go for sub £30 million. Rice is tw...

Re: Andy Carroll
I don't care what anyone says. He was a massive part of us winning this game. The first 15 mins after he comes on, the opposition double and often treble up on him and suddenly our creative players have 5 or so more seconds to find a pass or shoot. Some lovely touches, some crap ones. Overall though...

Re: Angelo Ogbonna
I don't rate him - he was OK last night, got away with a few late challenges. A lot to be said for Crouchy's post about him being a model professional - a fair point and it's positive that he gets on with it and remains part of the team spirit etc. But that is the least I would expect - he hasn't be...

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I know this sounds odd and petty but I believe our ball boy set up has costs us points every season since moving to the OS. Takes a good minute most times the ball is out of play to get the game going again. It's like reverse urgency. We must have one of the lowest 'minutes in play' at the stadium i...

Re: Declan Rice
I echo the sentiments above about how surprised I am he has taken to the midfielder role In fact, the more I see of him, the more i feel he could be wasted playing in a very rigid 'Eric Dier' style holding role just in front of two CBs He could develop into a very effective all-round midfielder and...

Re: Michail Antonio
I was very critical of Bilic in our excellent season where this man was fantastic scoring and assisting plenty from a position he was unfamiliar with. Criticism being that he had more than earned to not be pigeon holed into right back and be given the opportunity to flourish as an wide forward, join...
