Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen

The saving grace is there ain't many league games in the next 4 weeks . Moyes has got to learn to rotate . Managers with far less resources manage it . Il go to my grave convinced it was the lack of it that cost us the Europa League in 2022 . The west ham United of the Seville and Lyon games smash ...

In March?!

That would be an incredibly long 4 weeks if Paq was to miss that :crylol:

Re: January transfer window

Problem is that Afcon runs into the middle of February. The combination of things is unfortunate. Given who's injured, and what's left to work with, I think I'd now be looking for a focal point centre forward with pace and at least one player who can double up at CB/DM. That's assuming Ghana make t...

Re: FA4 - Draw Tonight

IMO the TV picks will be West Bromwich Albion v Brentford or Wolverhampton Wanderers (in the hope that Wolves win) Chelsea v Aston Villa Liverpool v Norwich City or Bristol Rovers Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Newport County or Eastleigh v Manchester United & then if 6 picks the last one w...

Going from previous AFCONS, backing under 1.5 goals each game is a smart bet

Re: ✍ Danny Ings

The first few pages on this threat are quite funny. Some calling Ings our 'best signing in years' , 'Hes going to have a Lingard impact' etc Hate to say I told you so but...... Signing a 30+ year old striker always poses a bit of a worry. We've been stung many times in the past; Robbie Keane, Benni ...

Very quick, looks great on the eye. But the type of player to end the season with 1 goal and 2 assists.

Re: January transfer window

I'd agree with you in most games. When we sit deep and have little of the ball wouldn't add much for me. I wouldn't expect him to have much pace now but not seen him sprint tbh. Getting the ball near the half way line wouldn't be ideal. Some games though when teams sit deep against us and we strugg...

Re: January transfer window

Why wouldn't firmino work under Moyes? We've already got Bowen playing like Salah, kudos like mane, Emerson like Robertson and jwp like Henderson, I'd take firmino for 6 months. Because every striker that has worked well under David Moyes has to be quick, strong, and run the channels. Think Yakubu,...

Re: West Ham United v Bristol City : match thread

No point playing a strong team if we won't later in the competition when we draw Man Utd, Man City or Liverpool. I can't remember a time under Moyes where he has put a weak side out in the FA cup against superior opposition? Even in the Covid season, when we drew Stockport in the 3rd round with Ant...

Firmino under David Moyes would be pretty grim viewing.

Im a big Moyes fan but that sort of signing really wouldn't work with us.

Re: West Ham United v Bristol City : match thread

The side I picked is more about who in our side might need a rest, and who is absolutely vital to us until we get our injuries and AFCON lads back. For me, that is Emerson, Alvarez and Bowen. Right now, they are our three best and most important available players who I wouldn't want crocked whilst ...

Re: West Ham United v Bristol City : match thread

I can see Moyes throwing Paq back in for this one, as Kudus is out & we wont have another game for 2 weeks.

Expect to see something like:

Fabianski
Coufal Mavro Zouma (og if injured) Emerson
Alvarez Soucek JWP
Bowen Ings (unless we dont wan him cup tied) Paqueta

Re: Atmosphere

Yet the best atmosphere in 20 years was at the bowl v seville The fact that we always have to reference same 1 game in our 7 year history at the London stadium speak volumes. It’s also hard to compare that to any Upton Park game (although I think Ipswich and Man Utd were louder), as we never played...
