Re: Jesse Lingard

WLP I can't help thinking players are being forced on Cooper. You had a great team and 4 or 5 signings of quality could help. I have a soft spot for Forest but with wages is this going to go awry? I think you've done enough to stay up though. And I know your first game is against us and I can visua...

Re: Jesse Lingard

Good to see you again, WLP. I was wondering how highly Cooper was regarded (high or very...? :D ) I have a feeling you'll be this season's Brentford. All the best - after the 14th. Best manager we've had since Frank Clark, and if he carries on the way he's started he'll be rapidly closing in...

Re: Jesse Lingard

Ta. Hope you can post on the match thread in a couple of weeks about places to eat/drink etc as not been to your neck of the woods for a while. Mate, you've probably been there more recently than me, I've lived in Canada the last 13 years. Came back for Wembley of course, but the last time I saw a ...

Re: Jesse Lingard

It's evident his heart isn't in the game any more following this decision. He's given up any shot of playing for England again and is happy to accept what will likely be a relegation scrap for the next year, all for a pound note. That's his choice and is absolutely fine. As I have said elsewhere on...

Re: Jesse Lingard

I have nothing against Forest, decent club and Nottingham is a great night out. I’m coming from a position of truth in that the money is that vast in the Premier League that the gulf is too big. Brentford did OK last year but they faded at the end and they’ve had the infrastructure in place for a w...

Re: Jesse Lingard

Appreciate that West Ham are on a different level footballing wise to Forest (and most other clubs in the country) at the moment, but I think the whole "poxy little Forest" narrative is slightly unfair. Our relegation odds are short simply because the club that comes up through the playoff...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

I dont think European football will necessarily impact the quality of the player we target...moreso our ability to get them and the numbers we get in WLP...sounds a good player and probably the next to make the step up from the Championship We have several who are going to get big money moves this ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

With regards to Worrall, you never are 100% sure how a Championship player will do when they make the step up. Just because they played well against a Premier League team in an isolated game, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are Premier League standard. As if we applied that logic to all teams we...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Joe Worrall has now faced Arsenal, Leicester and Liverpool this season. 1 clean sheet, 2 goals conceded, 1 goal scored, and was named MOTM against the team that could well go on to win the Premier League. Will be interesting to see if Moyes goes back in for him. He's ****, you wouldn't like him. No...

Not a scooby. I don't live in the UK so the only football I really watch is Forest games.

Re: Welcome Antonio

So what's his position? Looks from the little I have seen to play down the middle. Thought we signed him as a wide player? Nominally a winger but more of an inside forward. He won't play much down the touchline, he's very direct. I'm not sure how well "knock it past the defender and beat him f...

Re: Welcome Antonio

I'm OK with this. I'm not entirely convinced he'll cut it in the Premier League and I think you've probably overpaid for him, but I've been wrong plenty of times before and if he does translate his skills to the top flight he'll be a lot of fun for you to watch.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread

Could take Andy Reid instead. He's fat and injured and he's still one of the most popular players at Forest. No-one's going to offer enough for us to want to part with him, he makes us tick when he's playing. I understand the comparisons between Antonio and Marlon, but there are differences. Harewo...

Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote:The Twitterati also say that Jarvis isn't part of the Antonio offer as our valuation of him exceeds their's by some margin.
I would imagine that there are bigger issues than that, namely that we can't afford Jarvis's wages and by all accounts he doesn't want to play for us.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread

Antonio is big, fast and very direct. He's an excellent finisher and really good in the air. On the downside, he's incredibly raw. Sometimes his control is laughable and his main "knock it past the defender and then beat him for pace and strength" tactic will be less effective in the Premi...

Blimey. That's a lot of money. It might work out for you, but far from a guaranteed thing.

You can't teach big and fast though.

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread

So in another typically half-arsed swoop, West Ham offer the customary derisory bid and also manage to make it known that their former record signing and only remaining winger is highly disposable. Jarvis should be raring to go at the weekend then... Buying players should be like buying a house. Yo...

Re: Summer 2015 transfer thread

But....Matt Jarvis cost us about £10.75 million (Cheers Sam/Mark Curtis), so you're getting offered £14.75million  I'm already on record as saying I'd do a deal for Antonio at the right price, and I like the idea of Jarvis coming in as a replacement. Having rejected bids at £4M already though...

Natalie Jackson is a local sports reporter in Nottingham and very connected at Forest. Natalie Jackson ‏@NatJacksonsport 58m58 minutes ago I understand @whufc_official have made a formal bid of around 4m + Matt Jarvis (wages covered for a season long loan) for Antonio. #nffc 1/1 Natalie Jackson ‏@Na...
