No one picking up Zaniolo's run. Basic.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

They have been putting us under pressure since their changes, so can understand what Moyes is trying to do. Think we are being forced deep as much as us deciding to sit deep. I'd look at another change or two. They have introduced pace and energy and I think we need the 2nd part ourselves.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Yes, but so many are off the boil. Ings is in form. A little surprised he didn’t come on They did start with some of their back up options also, so they did have some strength to bring on. I'd be happy with any of ours. I want Phillips to get minutes and I don't have any issue with Ings, Ward-Prows...

Think we have some decent options there tbf though. Phillips, Ward-Prowse, Ings and Aguerd etc.

Not all goals will get that sort of review. Many are cleared in seconds. I'm talking about the outright attempt to put doubt in. Absolute no chance those Villa players know if that's handball. They'll be claiming for anything. Offside, foul etc.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

2 Aston Villa players threw their hands in the air in desperation and unfortunately that sort of **** works. Appeal and get a review. No wonder it's the first thing players do now.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

I won't outright say it wasn't, but I can't tell from the replays that were being shown. If it came off Zouma, it looked sleeve at worst and I couldn't see where Antonio touched it with his hand. **** VAR.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

I'm really impressed with the way we have pressed them. Bossed the midfield and put pressure on their CB's. This has been as good of a display as any tbf. Moyes has got it spot on and each one of them has stuck to the task.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

I reckon they'll bring on Cash/Digne at HT. Just got to keep doing what we're doing, absolutely the better side here. Considering some Villa fans said this will be easy compared to Wolves and Chelsea (who are 2 teams below us btw) I'm glad we are making it anything but so.

Na would rather not. With Tottenham and Leverkusen coming up, I'd rather see him stand up for the duration for once.

I would like one game, just one, where Paqueta doesn't give us some sort of injury scare.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Think we've done well and have them by the b*llocks. We aren't letting them get in behind and we are putting them under pressure in which they are giving the ball away. Hoping we can keep it up, but a couple of changes around 60 might be necessary.

Coufal with a good strike, followed by Coufal with his usual sort of strike :D.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Tbf, the main thing we need to do is not let them have space in behind, which we are doing ok with so far.

That's obviously the tactic Emery is going with. It failed to work against Tottenham with Watkins and Bailey. We will simply have to defend properly.

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

The Sunday games after Europe just feel a bit..meh to me? Not sure why Our league positions are what have got us into Europe on two of the three occasions we have been in it. They are our bread and butter. We can't be banking on a Europa League win to get us back there again. We need to be up for f...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

Moyes' line-up has the attacking intent his critics have called for. Should be a good game. Well it's pretty much the same as our last game which resulted in a 5-0 victory. Step up in opposition, but I would've been surprised to see Moyes change much from that. Not just about the attacking intent, ...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)

I like it. Given that we went clear favourites after the line ups were announced, looks like plenty of others like it. I'm fairly confident tbh. I don't think Villa have looked anything special lately. Respect of where they are, but I feel like Moyes has found the perfect formula from the other nigh...
