I have heard of Mowgli, Atlas, Orlando, Brutus

Re: Stopping the cheating
Imo this obsession with "cheating" is getting to be a tad OTT. Football has been around a long time and players have always cheated to try and gain an advantage and probably always will. Diving is a form of cheating, just as tripping an opponent is. It's the referee';s responsibility to i...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
I woimd say their back 4 are certain starters for us, as is Son
Paq and Bowen certain starters for them
And then after that not much to choose between the rest of our first eleven and theirs
Obviously they have a much better squad as some of their squad wpuld be in the mix for our starting eleven

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Callum Marshall is a great example... people on here moaning and calling out Moyes for not playing him and he's struggling to get any time on the pitch at West Brom... you have to believe that the manager and the U21's and youth coaches know their profession well and make the right calls, despite P...

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Pleased with the point and there were some encouraging performances around the pitch. Dino seems to be settling in and our front four (or three- and-a-half after the hour mark when Antonio tires) will always create chances. But, as others have said, it is an absolute nonsense that we have no game-c...

Shpikd be enough for Conference League unless Chelsea (or Coventry) win the cupbubbles1966 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 12:47 pm I think we've pretty much nailed top 8 if we do Wolves at the weekend.
The issue is more about 8th being enough.

Re: Where will we finish?
I am sure all the other clubs in the hunt coukd pinpoint dodgy decisions that haven't gone there way which means they have dropped points
We certainly let th4 first half v Burnley pass us by
I think we will come 8th, but I am intrigued by Bournemouth now

Re: West Ham Utd v Tottenham: match thread
Relatedly, this is an interesting point re. Paqueta’s barge on Maddison that eventually led to Antonio’s bodged shot Entirely plausible if Antonio scores the actual net result is Maddison taking a free kick from just outside the box. That would be peak VAR. Us scoring to take the lead directly lead...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
The issue is, if he brings Ings on and we lose he gets lambasted. "We all know Ings is useless so how can't Moyes see it" etc. Nothing is good enough for some of our fans because they've decided Moyes is useless, it's why 'any manager could've won that trophy' despite last season being &q...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don't doubt this is passed on in good faith but this just doesn't even sound plausible. So he hasn't spoken to Cresswell, but he started against Freiburg. Guess he told Bowen to tell Cresswell he was playing? There's no game management plan, so we just sort of stumbled our way to 6th, 7th, won a ...

i was at the game so didn't see it, but the consensus on the radio is that if Antonio had scored it would likely have been disallowed by VAR for a foul on Maddison

Good first half, average second jalf
Wr were too timid for second half and could have been more threatening if we had taken more risks
Defended well and point was fait result. Neither team did enough to win via their hugely different styles

That first goal I don't understand... The Newcastle player was offside when the ball was played, so why wasn't he ruled offside? If he wasn't where he was stood good chance Coufal is further back and then makes the clearance after Mavropanos' touch - let alone how you can deem that touch anymore mo...

The full script from The FA website: Note: Schar got a touch a split second earlier and is going through goalwards, the ball is off the ground, the speed of the incident and the shape of Mavropanous' body and his 'kicking' leg. See my picture above. All things that suggest a 'save' or non-deliberat...
