Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Is there anyone Chelsea have to sell, or want to sell, that we genuinely want? For a stupidly low price of course. Can see the value of Chalobah, and despite his performance yesterday, Gallagher is a very good Premier League player. If Moyes is here then I think we go back in for Gallagher at the b...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Surely they’ll just cooperate and accept the 4 to 6 point deduction they might get, rather than sell starters they want to keep. Although I think they’d happily sell James regardless, they already bought Gusto who looks good How easy will it be to sign players if everyone knows that they are going ...

Agreed, Colwill on the other hand looks to be a decent left sided centre back

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Taking into account Chelsea's predicament and the need to desperately raise funds by the 30th June, I do wonder how long before they start to entertain offers for Colwill and Reece James. Not that I'm saying we're in that market but if there are no takers for Broja, Gallager and Chalobah then clubs ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

As a side.... something else to consider is the continued growth of the Saudi league A player like Zouma or Aguerd could attract significant fees and command high wages out there It's another unknown we may benefit from Looks the madness that is the Saudi money pit will re commence in the summer. I...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

If we harbour any ideas of keeping Paqueta and showing the likes of Kudus, Alvarez and Bowen that we are a "serious" club then we need an early marque signing to set the tone for the summer.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

If we sign Isak or Toney I'll deactivate. As far as I can tell there are 3 clubs who will be in the market for a forward. Us, Spurs and Arsenal. Gykores, Toney, Solanke, Oshimen and other overseas players will potentially be available. Personally my monies on Arsenal going for a Gykores/Vlahovic ty...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Toney will hold out for one of the established 'bigger' clubs, IMHO. Even if that means 18 months I think he wants out now, as per his interview last week. As crazy as it sounds but I think Arteta would rather spend £100m+ on a younger less proven player as opposed to a proven premier league player...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I reckon you need £55m-£60m to get Solanke but maybe only £40-£50m to get Toney. Brentford want to sell and Toney wants out. Either would be great for us. Chelsea have Nkanku, who's been injured for most of the season. Villa have Watkins, city have Haaland and Liverpool have Nunez. Newcastle are in ...

Were looking for a certain type of investor apparently, one with very deep pockets.

He was coming from a weaker league, and our only competition was Brighton.
Brighton wasnt the only interested party

Indeed. If what could happen does happen then we will be seen as a big step up for the the top players at Villa, Newcastle and possibly Spurs

He cost Newcastle £65m before he was proven in the Premier League, and we're basically a step down let alone a sideways step.
Opinions.

Weren't you apoplectic last summer that anyone would consider wanting to sign Toney :chin:

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

The rumours about Alexander Isak being sold by Newcastle are now circulating on a daily basis.

It's possibly a sideways step but I think we would be at his level, and with a current salary of £120,000 he's get able.

We should be pulling out all the stops to bring this calibre of striker to the bowl

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I see Ex on his podcast (apparently) suggested Oggy will be offered a new one year contract, on reduced wages. Unless Nathan leaves where does a new CH fit in? If, and it's big if, Oggie can still turn in performances when called upon then he will be a good 4th choice, will be great to have around ...

I reckon Guimares, Paqueta and Pedro Neto are all on City's radar.
It wouldn't surprise me if they end up with two of those.
