Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

Do you not agree TPP, that we would be far better off spending money on players that can help, rather than on players that add nothing at all.

Just because we have more money coming in doesn't mean Sam should get to piss it all away.

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

Carroll gets a decent pre-season, then he's one to build a team around. You know & I know that SA hasn't been given a job to build a team for the future. His ONLY job that he was asked to do(By the Daves) was build a team to KEEP West Ham in the Premiership. If he was told to build a team for t...

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

Can you please explain to me exactly how Sam is building for the future?

Carroll, Jarvis, Downing, Rat, Petric, Diarra, Cole (either of them), Pogatetz, Johnson, etc.....

Which of them do we build our future around?

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

I love the fact that there are people on here who keep trying to pretend that West Ham fans have no patience and wouldn't give any manager any time. If I and many others felt that he was building something for the future and steadily improving us, I would happily give him all the time he needed. I d...

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

Don't wish to argue with you cardiff... but how do we know the football will be better next season?

I am at the point now where I just want a decision. He goes or he stays, decide now and announce now.

The longer this speculation goes on the worse we will be for it.

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

All these people who keep talking about Sam not being given time and that the anti-Sam people should have more patience need to understand: I would happily give Sam time if I thought he was moving us in the right direction, I (and many others) do not believe that though. He has his style of play, he...

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

I want Sam out. I genuinely get no pleasure from feeling that way, I want to have faith that Sam knows what he is doing and will steadily improve us. I want to be able to fully support him but I cannot. I don't like his style of play and have no faith he will ever change it. I don't like his over re...

Re: Allardyce: Stick or twist

I usually do not agree with firing managers unless there is no other option. I came to the conclusion that we had no other option about November. If it was not for February we would be long gone by now. In fact even in February we didn't play particularly well. When I look at Sam I just cannot think...

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

I'll take Downing and LBM over Dyer and Maiga. But to be fair, neither Maiga or Downing have blown their Achilles tendon up or had their leg smashed to bits like Faubert and Dyer suffered. To be fair, Curbs made some good signings as well as some crap ones, just like all managers. My problem with S...

Faubert for £5m or Downing and Miaga for £6m and £5m?

Discuss.
I can remember Faubert having some very good games for us and putting in some excellent crosses.

I'd have Faubert over both of them.

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

The one thing I think we can all agree on is that something has to change for next season, whether that's the manager or the squad or both. If we do not improve next season we are almost certain relegation candidates.

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

Carroll is a good player, he just isn't a twenty goals a season player. He would be far more effective if he had a Defoe like player up with him. Sadly, as long as Nolan can still walk he will play.

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

If Sam is still here next season it will be because Gold and Sullivan are too cheap to fire him.

We are NOT safe yet.

We will finish on 37 points and that may not be enough.

Carroll is not and never will be a natural goal scorer. Thats why he needs a strike partner in my opinion.

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

Most fans are happy with Big Sam it is just a small group who want him gone. Without him we would have gone down this season. Sorry but you are wrong. There is a split between our fans over Sam but to suggest only a small number of fans want him out is nonsense. Most fans I talk to at the games wan...

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

I can understand the frustration from the fans, I cannot stand Sam and want him out..but booing and singing against the manager is not going to help the team. Mind you, how else do we show our feelings towards him. Difficult one really. On the actual match, we can really get something here providing...

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

As I posted yesterday, I spoke with a West Brom fan who said that the West Brom fans are convinced we are not going to turn up for this match.

They think we are just going to sit back and not look to win at all and if they score early we will collapse.

Let's hope they are wrong.

Re: West Bromich Albion v West Ham United: Match Thread

Was speaking to a West Brom fan in the office today (yes they do exist outside of Baggie Land). He was telling me that the West Brom fans are convinced that we are going to park the bus and try for a nil nil. They are apparently very happy with that as they are worried about their defence but very c...
