Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Agree re Fulham, we started brightly.
Within a minute of me saying that to my lad, followed by ‘that’ll be the kiss of death’, we were 1 down and capitulated.
Credit to Moyes for the set up and approach to the game yesterday, more of that please

Re: West Ham United v SC Freiburg: match thread
Was a bit concerned to see Alvarez limping a bit as he went off and Moyes said in his post match interview that he had a dead leg at half time but wanted to try to soldier on for a bit. He took a whack in the first half on his thigh and stayed down for a bit. Never seemed to fully shake it off so m...

Re: West Ham United v SC Freiburg: match thread
Thoroughly enjoyed that, after almost giving it a miss last and watching from my sofa. Glad I decided otherwise. We needed a performance like that, and were always in control. Bowen, Kudus, Paquetta, Alvarez, JWP all had very good games, as did the defence in the main. Coufal was excellent, the guy ...

Re: Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
First half was a tough watch and how many, me included, thought the game would go. In the main, we were pretty solid defensively and restricted their opportunities, but we had no way out at times and the game looked like an attack v defence training drill. As a footballing spectacle we were poor, as...

Re: West Ham Utd v Crystal Palace - Match Thread
In the Battle of the Bland, honours were even. Neither team deserved to win that, awful game of football, once again. We sparked into life for the last 5 minutes of injury time, bit late that, as was any attempt at changing things by the manager. Games and performances like that happen, but I’d rath...

Re: Bačka Topola v West Ham Utd - Match Thread
The result was always going to be the most important thing last night, and we got it. Good goal too from a lovely cross. But the game, and the teams performance, was poor. Joe Cole at half time called it right, and few come out of it with a lot of credit outside of Areola, Soucek for a lovely finish...

Re: Terry Venables R.I.P.
That relatively short time that Terry Venables managed the England team was the most I have ever felt so engaged with the national team. It has never been the same since. Sure, it was a home tournament and the Gascoigne years too, but Venables oozed charm, charisma, humour and tactical know how. He ...

Re: ✍️ Welcome Michail Antonio
Antonio should have put his ego to bed and quit playing for Jamaica. It has done him no favours at all and now likely has ended his career here. On the plus side, Moyes does tend to perform better during a crisis, so I'd hope to see an innovative solution. Now I am no fan of Antonio at all, and cle...

Re: ✍ Welcome Tomas Soucek
He's in the team for his heading, clearances, effort, spirit and goal threat. All are valid and those are fine things to offer. It's also valid for fans to take into account the obvious limitations in his game as well as their own personal factors that determine their enjoyment of watching us. If t...

Re: West Ham Utd v Nottingham Forest: Match Thread
We are among the top 7 in the league at it. We are also equal second at scoring on the counter. Scoring goals is not a problem. Stopping them is. That's impressive scoring wise. What makes conceding them more of a concern is that Areola has kept a fair few out too, it could be even worse but for him

Re: West Ham Utd v Nottingham Forest: Match Thread
I’m still concerned at our lack goal scoring ability in open play. We suffered greatly when JWP wasn’t getting returns from his corners for a few games and we won yesterday because his corners again. We got a cracker from open play yesterday, and ought to have maybe added it to when Paquetta was th...

Re: West Ham Utd v Nottingham Forest: Match Thread
What about last season? We've got JWP now. So it should be all about getting the ball as quickly as possible into the final third to either create something via Paqueta, Jarrod and Kudus, three international class attacking talents or win free-kicks and corners, as teams are frightened to death whe...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Jarrod Bowen
Bowen’s been scoring striker goals since at least the 2nd half of the 2021/22 season. He’s scoring the type of goals you’d expect the likes of a peak Jamie Vardy to put away. Scoring all types of goals too. Yesterday wasn’t the first header he’s scored from. If we’re being honest, even when he play...
