Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

Who knows, I suspect I’ll probably have to wear a coat indoors. What will you do ? Im fortunately not affected by it. I've fixed my gas until April at 9p a unit (up from 4p) costly but least I'm prepared Also my project which saves me electric pays for the gas. I'm fortunate as I say. Not everyone ...

I’m sure we’ll survive somehow.
What about when October hits and the next price cap increase? Or when ofgen get their way and it becomes 3 monthly reviews of the price cap rather than 6 monthly

What then?

We're also post Covid. There's life to be lived and fun to be had.

I save, but I certainly sympathize with people who choose not to.
What about those who dont have any left over to save?

Re: Sharpe assault [non WHU]

Isn't that same reaction Sharpe did when he got "attacked" by Matty taylor on valentine's Day 2012 meaning southampton got an undeserved draw which cost us automatic promotion ..

Least their was clear contact this time I guess

But whilst you left the house (I did aswell) there were less colds spread as more people were at home so less build up of immunity

Whilst you prob had 3 a year before without knowing now the 2 you have had are noticeable.

Re: The Golf Thread

Got my swing back! Haven't played that well the last couple of weeks, but been scoring pretty decent for me. Had a 19, 21 and some 23s, and that is with either some dodgy driving or in the first round some terrible putting (even had a four putt!). Looking forward to working on it over summer and ju...

Re: The Energy Crisis

Yeah sorry, across your electric meter. Teaches me to glance quickly and assume. They've seen an old install with a few cables running all about and just slung the new ones across. They're barely long enough. Sorry, it's a bit of a bugbear of mine. In truth it wont actually affect anything so long ...

Re: The Energy Crisis

Just caught up with this thread. Agreed with Hummer on the shocking cable install done for mumbles with cables stretched across the front of the gas meters. Re dead legs, you want them gone as they are indeed breeding grounds for all sorts of water born parasites in closed water systems such as cen...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

This is kind of what I'm getting at. Someone on 40k is screwed finding £40 a week. People have been living at their limit while stuff was cheap. Apologies for misreading You are correct It's the gas for me that's the kicker My wife and I have a shower each a day and the kids share a bath Now our bo...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

Isn't that just the Keynesian economic model generally? Given the rates of inflation, saving isn't the most sensible thing, keep spending, keep the wheel moving. The system needs it. Capital accumulation and saving has not really been encouraged in my lifetime. People tend not to give themselves mu...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

It's impossible to really know without knowing he er circumstances. If she has been in the police 20 + years it is possibly safe to assume her kid doesn't need a child minder by now. It's too easy to just say adjust your spending but 27k take home is more than the average salary before tax. Her pen...

Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

I would find a better accountant to ask tbh. Presumably better off ignores the pension she is paying into so it's very short term better off if she is 20 odd years in. Isn't there a 20k benefit cap? 27k a year after tax and pension contributions feels like a lot of income tbh but I don't know what ...

People who can't arrive on time. Yes, sometimes it can't be avoided and I'm sure we've all been late before but it you are regularly late then maybe it's time to change your routine? Re: The Johnson Government 2019-202?

Yes because that’s the way this government think ,She will go back to Boris and say that apparently you can get over £2300 per month if you only work 22 hours and claim benefits and I have never known a poor police officer ,my bad . I don't think they will get £2300 I think it's what becomes availa...
