Re: Who Will Beat Us To Top 4?

I've done a full 360 on this and i'm not sure we will pick up more than 6-8 points whilst were still in the Europa. I can’t see anyway we get more than 8 points from our last 5 games, I’d snap your arm off for 8 and take 6 at this point. In the reverse fixtures last season I think we got 4 points, ...

where does Ex make these 'pre-announcements' about his podcast? They seem too long for twitter.
On his Patreon site.

I don’t think he posts on Twitter much info these days.

Re: Issa Diop

He basically says he’s in a lot of pain with an ankle/achillies injury, it’s feared it could be season ending but not confirmed at this stage.

The club hope Zouma or Ogbonna May return earlier than expected, but he’ll discuss more on the podcast.

Re: Issa Diop

Terrible news for our Europa chances. I’d imagine the most likely solution will be Johnson at CB, as I ca t see Alese playing given he didn’t even make the squad at the weekend. Moving Rice to CB isn’t an option as far as I’m concerned, he’s far to important to us in the middle of the park. I’d also...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread

Brentford 2.0 today then it seems…….we really can’t afford to lose this game.

All the nonsense about targeting top 4, we’ll be trying to avoid 8th if we lose today.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Not saying much given the absolute ***** we’ve had at full back for decades. We sign an average RB like Coufal and he looks world class compared to what we’ve had to endure Coufal was class last season, it has nothing to do with our previous right backs, he just performed very well. Many neutral pu...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Toney is a decent player and really suits Brentford’s style of play and I can’t see Moyes changing how we play just to accommodate him - he didn’t do it for Haller so can’t see him doing it for Toney. I agree with the touch of class and think his link up and passing are his best attributes, but I’m...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread

If we can’t start Benny and Vlasic in a game like today when can we? We honestly might as well sell both in the summer if we don’t trust them to play at home against a team likely to be relegated without a manager who was clearly their leader. Benny and Vlasic’s combine fees probably cost more than ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread

Its must win if we want to stay in the mix. A loss would, I suspect , confirm us to be in a direct fight for 7th with Wolves. A loss today and I’d actually put Wolves as favourites for 7th. Our remaining games are remarkably similar, we both have to play Burnley next, with winnable games against Br...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.

Toney is not that player. Is Toney’s hold up play good enough to adjust the way we play slightly? I’m tempted to say it is. Whenever I’ve seen him play he seems to have a touch of class about him. I’ve never thought he was hugely slow or immobile either, in a sprint I’d expect him to beat Haller qu...

Re: Should we prioritise the Europa Cup over the Premier League?

It completely ignores the Villa and Man City performances too, where we beat one, and gave an excellent account of ourselves in the other. Imagine sticking all our eggs in one basket and missing out on European Qualification next season because we get knocked out by Frankfurt as they were better th...

Re: Should we prioritise the Europa Cup over the Premier League?

Every single game we play we go out full strength to win it. I've never subscribed to the notion of picking and choosing games. They've won two of their last five, and are our direct rivals in the table. Of course we bloody go full strength against them. They've got to play Chelsea, Man Utd and Tot...

Re: Who Will Beat Us To Top 4?

We are still in with a great shout for top 4, but only if we perform and take 3 points from the Burnley game. Fail to do so and top four is gone, imho. I’m struggling to see how people still think we’ve got a good chance of top 4, even top 6 looks difficult imo. Out of interest how many points do y...

Re: Who Will Beat Us To Top 4?

If we weren’t in Europa I think we might been able to nick 4th or certainly 5th given the form of the others around us, but our form is no better than theirs and surely we’re targeting Europa now. On skybet our odds have come in from 150/1 to 40/1 following today’s results. I just can’t see it even ...

Re: Issa Diop

He played pretty much how I thought he could. A magnificent display alongside Dawson. We would be nuts to sell him and if this success continues, what player would want to leave if they had the chance to win major trophies with a well integrated and drilled squad? I would suggest he is a ready made...

Re: Should we prioritise the Europa Cup over the Premier League?

Moyes has repeatedly said, the Premier League is the most important competition. I agree. Why is it more important? The Europa grows in importance with every round we get through. So not sure Moyes comments still ring true. By targeting the league over Europa you are effectively saying you are prio...

I will make it simple - as to the title - don't be so ****ing stupid.
Quite a lot of irony to this comment.

Going full strength vs Arsenal would indeed be rather stupid.

All other games you can make a case for, but ignoring the Tottenham and Brentford performances would be foolish.

Re: Should we prioritise the Europa Cup over the Premier League?

Unless City beat Liverpool tomorrow and are in the FA Cup final. Any idea when the game would be moved to? A scenario I’m hoping doesn’t play out is that Noble’s last home game will be when City clinch the title, which looks quite likely atm. Noble deserves to have his last home game to be about hi...

Re: Should we prioritise the Europa Cup over the Premier League?

We have to prioritise the EL - winning that and getting a CL place would be absolutely transformational for the club, both in terms of players we can attract and player we can keep. Unfortunately we don't have massive depth in the squad to allow successful rotation, but we should be able to rest a ...

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Burnley: match thread

If we can beat Burnley with some rotation (Vlasic, Benny, Fred then that should give us a bit of breathing space over Wolves and enable us to rest players against Chelsea and Arsenal. We need to strike the balance between ensuring we finish top 7 if we don’t win Europa and giving ourselves the best ...
