Re: Match #21: England vs Scotland (8pm, Friday 18th June)

Just realized my initial post didn't actually credit the Scots with playing the occasion. They needed a minimum of a point. They were massively up for the game and buzzed around for 90 minutes, I thought their legs would start to go at about 70 but fair play they out the work in and got their point....

Hate to dig out kids, but I honestly don’t think he’s international class. Smacked a bit of having used the other 2 right backs in the last game he's going to use the last one to show he wasn't a complete ****ing muppet for over stacking that less than crucial position... I think he's got a big fut...

Re: Match #21: England vs Scotland (8pm, Friday 18th June)

Against Scotland do we really need two defensive midfielders? I know they both played well against Croatia but I thought it was a negative selection. One should've played, not both. Sterling's goal against Croatia papered over a lot of cracks IMO and came home to roost tonight. He's been poor for C...

I don't think I know anybody who does.
It's impossible to watch games and not get snippets thrown in from them. I wouldn't watch one start to finish but those clips are just as if not more important to the sponsors.

Re: UEFA could strip Wembley of hosting final, semis over UK quarantine rules - sources

Same as the CL final then. They want their jolly and public safety is no reason for them to have to comply with any rules.

While the semi's and final being played at Wembley would be great I'd much prefer the gov to tell them to **** off.

That's the real crime in this whole sorry saga. Have you ever tried alcohol-free beer? Urrrghh. In fairness have you ever tried Heineken... How that is deemed fit for human consumption is beyond me. To make an alcohol free version... So you still have to taste that... But you don't even get drunk.....

Re: Match #21: England vs Scotland (8pm, Friday 18th June)

Scotts will be up for this game like no other. Firstly because it's against England. Secondly because it's in England. Thirdly because having lost their first game of they don't get at least a point their tournament is probably done. I said on thier first match thread I was much more impressed with ...

Re: West Ham Players in the Euros.

His attitude to his defensive duties could politely be described as not in fitting with Moyes' style. I don't think it's an attitude thing it's a legs thing. If he plays on the right and is expected to do the same job as Bowen he simply isn't that player or that kind of athlete. He is a very good w...

Re: Match #12: France v Germany (8pm, Tuesday 15 June)

Can't see past France winning this, but Germany are a tournament team and they always seem to find a way through. This is either going to be a great match to watch or a stodgy, torpid slog. I'd love the former but I'd put money on the latter. Largely because it's such a ****ing awful group that neit...

Re: David Moyes Claret and Blue Army!!!!! (3 year contract SIGNED)

He's only 58, I doubt it would even be his thinking for another 10 years. It's also a different skill set, how many managers these days "go upstairs"? For me it's a slightly different skill set too. Besides who would want to come and be out manager with a former manager making the transfe...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021

it's just Ogbonna and Dawson have played well but he'll get more matches now we are in europe and balbuena is gone. We do also possibly have reid, we have alvez and possibly kids who need to step up. I'm not sure if centre back is really an area of utmost concern at the moment? I think we need 1 mo...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2021

Did he regress or did Ogbonna massively improve over that period? I think regress is harsh. He looked good in a confident team playing well. He looked worse in a team with no confidence or identity particularly in defence. He was a bit part player last season as there were a number of changes over ...

Re: Takeover talk

The 21-22 season: European football will generate some extra revenue, and attract some additional players. We will not qualify for Europe next season and slide down the league due to having a too thin squad. The 22-23 season: We will have to sell some players since we no longer play in Europe. Some...

Re: Match #5: England vs Croatia (2pm, Sunday 13 June)

You aren't putting down the national team by saying we didn't beat anyone particularly good, you're putting down the national team by saying we "lost three games", which is very misleading when two of those were irrelevant games where we played a reserve team. I'm sure you were aware of t...

Re: Home Nations Support

It’s just demographics. England is far bigger than the other nations in terms of population. 84% of the population of the UK live in England. Why should coverage be equal across the nations when the four nations of the UK have completely different populations? Not equal no, but I'm sure for them it...

The BBC/sports media in general in this country being so heavily slanted towards English news/games etc. Is very much like the slant toward the "big 5 + Spurs" that goes on during the season. Now I get royally pissed off when I tune in to watch one of that mob, or even not one of that mob ...

I can't believe people are still bringing that up, we played our reserves in two of those games. As if anyone counts third place play offs- they don't even bother with those in the Euros! Also, we took a very strong Croatia side to extra time. You counting a third place play off and group stage dea...

Re: Match #8: Scotland 0-2 Czech Republic (2pm, Monday 14 June)

I thought the Scott's were better than I was expecting, they seem to realise that it's a big thing that they are at the finals and they wanted to go for it. They put everything in but particularly that second goal sucker punch out them down. Thought they lifted themselves to the occasion but the lac...
