Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
One thing I do think that causes him a lot of problems is perception of him. And, weirdly, this is something I would criticise his supporters in the media for, as much as anything. There’s this idea that a philosophy is a new thing and only a thing for trendy attacking coaches. But Moyes has a philo...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
It's interesting you think people with a different perspective should step away from the thread. Let's be honest people that defend Moyes are shut down in equal measure to those that criticise. A few weeks ago Johnson had a couple of decent outings in midfield. Following those this place was full o...

Re: Nottingham Forest Deducted 4 points
Not sure I agree with the forest bit mate, they new the rules, they new the timescales that they needed to comply with and decided to wait on transferring him so they could maximise the return, they tried to game the system (they aren't the only ones), I mean what's the point of having a set rules ...

Re: Nottingham Forest Deducted 4 points
I have more sympathy for Forest than Everton. Least Forest were honest with the investigation, least Forest made the sale and could prove they had made sustainable money afterwards with Brennan Johnson. I think they should have been allowed to say to the FA or Prem, whoever it is, ‘we’re selling Joh...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I think some of you need to take some time away from this thread. Perspective has gone completely. It happened in the match thread, too. There is just no criticism being allowed. You’ve jumped down the throats of anyone who suggested bringing on Ben Johnson wasn’t the right call. Ben Johnson. The fu...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
Emery is the Spanish Moyes, granted with more trophies.
I think he’s a better manager, but thinking he’s wildly different in mindset to Moyes is funny.

Re: Plastic fantastic
This sounds excessive and horrible and shouldnt have happened. But I think the principle has always been that its fine to sit in the home end as an away fan, provided you dont wear colours or celebrate goals. Anything else feels disrespectful and is likely going to get you unwanted attention. An aw...

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
I’d go two minutes, and I’d also have a rule that each team was allowed one extension per game. But I’d have it as two minutes and the referee has to go to the monitor during the second minute. Make him make a choice if they can’t. I’d also be training VAR referees. Then id have the VAR room with on...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Personally, I would like us to sign someone who is stepping up to play for us. I think Beier counts, I think Awoniyi counts, too. Not sure Scamacca or Haller did. I just think we need someone who might not demand a place based on attitude, so we can sometimes play them, sometimes go with Bowen. If t...

Re: Plastic fantastic
For what it's worth, now living in Australia, I know many fans who get up or stay up to watch games. Your 3pm is currently 2am here. That 5:45pm kick off on Thursday a lovely 4:45am start. As a lad I play football with said "I wonder if all these Arsenal fans were up at 3am watching Cygan and S...

Re: Plastic fantastic
No, sad because anyone would think three U10 kids wearing a football shirt of another team would be offensive to our support. The two saddest things I've seen at West Ham have included grown men screaming in the faces of children who supported the opposite team. One time at UP, a mum and her daught...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Antonio has definitely shown in the last few games why a striker is needed. He's also shown that he probably should be kept next year

Re: West Ham United v Aston Villa: match thread (17.03.24)
Thought his first half was great, but quite disappointed by Moyes in the second. Johnson for Antonio was probably a defensive switch to counter Digne coming on and driving forward at left back. It felt over the top, a tad too reactionary to one change when the whole side were struggling. It left us ...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Problem with that is there is nothing to stop them buying good players that dont work again because everyone does it. No more "insert name" forgets the strengths that got those players bought. Premier League shopping is expensive. 70-80m on Awoniyi and Kilman, I would then guess we go chea...

Who’s benefitting from this? It’s clearly not a secret deal for Rice, so it’s being pushed around media outlets and websites for a reason.

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24
Antonio was sensational for 45 minutes. There might be something to having a striker, you know? Kudus was quieter on the left but he’s been a bit quieter in recent weeks anyway. And his version of quieter still creates good chances every game.
