Re: Little things in life that make you smile

I abandoned minced beef decades ago, and it took a while to find the best beef cut for the meat sauce. Shin is also good, and I'll get that if I can't get feather steak. Keep meaning to try oxtail, which might lend some nice bone marrow to the sauce. A beautiful slow cooked oxtail ragu would be ama...

Re: Grow 2021-24

Bought a gooseberry bush today.

I know they can be a bit tricky to grow well, but when they are happy and in the right place, can give you loads of fruit.

It’s my first gooseberry bush (£3.99 from Aldi), so let’s see how I get on.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile

I make a slow-cooked red sauce from seared pieces of feather steak, well-chopped & sweated onions, leeks, carrots, celery, fennel & garlic. Cans of tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, splash of balsamic vinegar & home made stock (usually chicken/veg, occasionally beef if we have any) comp...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He hasn't "listened". This does make me chuckle when people say that. Surely people don’t seriously believe that football managers base their tactics on the boos and cheers from the terraces? He hasn’t listened. He’s carried on being a decent, professional manager. Sometimes it works out,...

They seem to love a high scoring game. Let’s strangle the fight out of them and sneak it with a jammy goal off of Antonio’s backside.

Once you get to this stage, I don’t care, just please don’t be Liverpool.

I want them in the final and for us to avenge the 2006 cup final defeat. That’d take the shine off of Klopps dental veneers.

Re: West Ham United -v- SC Freiburg - 2nd leg match thread - 14.03.24

The question still has to be asked and answered "why have we not played like this all season" Seems all of a sudden Moyes is doing what we have been begging for all season, attacking football, and one of the kids getting sometime> It amazes me that people think it is as simple as Moyes as...

Re: West Ham Utd V Burnley: match thread - 10.03.24

Abysmal first half, and I blame the manager entirely. Wrong system, team, and he’s either not motivating them or just isn’t recognising tired players. Much better second half, although the fact we only really flourished in chaos means I can’t give Moyes much credit. Nothing tactically brilliant abo...

Club size, give me 10 bigger Man City Arsenal Liverpool Man U Chelsea Aston Villa Newcastle Spurs Nottingham Forest Everton Of course club size is relative, but the ones I’ve listed above have more English League titles and European cups than we’ve ever managed. Anyway, I’d better get back on topic…

Re: Sex Tourism

Honestly, this is absolutely sickening. Selling your kids into sexual slavery to get enough money to survive is desperate, desperate stuff. It happens regularly out there and no normal, decent human can rationalise it away as ‘well, I’m helping them out financially’. Using your financial clout to bu...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We've had our most successful seasons for decades and yet there is still a huge proportion of our support that don't want Moyes as the manager. That should tell you something… It says more about the modern day fan than anything else. Ironically, these are often the people that then bleat about play...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We say oh but Sullivan caused this but I remember brown out .. Question is are we ever happy? Yep, I don’t believe many fans will be happy unless we are regularly winning things, though even our first trophy in over forty years didn’t bring much happiness for some as it is derided as a two-bob trop...
