Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
He also said our recruitment plans and budget wouldn’t change whether we qualify for Europa or conference league when the former pretty much guarantees £20m and the latter £3.52. If we qualify for ECL I can see him bringing only a couple in and using the kids heavily in Europe. If we qualify for Eu...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I fear that Josh Brownhill has become the butt of the joke to the extent that when we do sign him everyone will be livid and talking about how awful he is. He is a fairly decent player and would be a huge improvement as a rotation option than what we currently have in Kral. And honestly, after Daws...

Re: Can we please stop saying 'We are massive'
This is truly one of the most embarrassing and cringe things I've ever seen or heard though.
Who are they? I now need to clean my ears out with some misanthropic black metal!

Re: Can we please stop saying 'We are massive'
Never mind the "we are massive" song, I know it's heresy to some but I've always hated "Bubbles". Absolutely nothing to do with football and the words are a litany to permanent failure. If I was a player stepping out for a big match the last think I'd want to hear is thousands o...

Re: Can we please stop saying 'We are massive'
we are adequate everywhere we go? what actual tune is it? And did we actually start using it first? The tune is Rotterdam by Beautiful South. We didn't start using the tune itself first - it was originally used 'xxx get battered everywhere they go', but we adapted it for the 'massive' phrase, which...

Re: Can we please stop saying 'We are massive'
But the 'Massive" thing is very specifically West Ham, originating from a comedy Twitter account that did alternative West Ham commentary. It was created with irony and sung proudly by us with irony, and is partly done to wind up the 'super 6', with their arrogance and sense of entitlement. Tha...

Isn't JWP basically Sebastian Larsson and no more than a boil on the buttocks of Josh 'the new Pele' Brownhill?Southminster Hammer wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 1:26 amBellamy was a different level of player to Ashton, much higher, such a shame we never had the chance to see either playing to their full potential.

Re: Can we please stop saying 'We are massive'
My Spurs mate sent a video from last night's match where 100s of Spurs fans were singing 'Tottenham are massive, everywhere we go" inside the stadium.
I feel violated. Surely, other clubs, especially local rivals, shouldn't be nicking a song that was definitely created by us for us.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Please don’t sign Lingard. He is done wants sky high wages, has nothing to play for and just wants one last big pay day. He is too needy as a player with a team around him as well. How much Lingard wants is total paper talk and conjecture. The geezer's already earned a fortune from the game. If any...

There's 4 huuuuge standouts for me:
Leicester at home (first home game after Covid, incredible performance and atmosphere)
Liverpool at home
Sevilla at home
Lyon away

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I'll be honest, I've never heard of Jerdy Schouten before... but after a look at his YouTube videos, he seems very much a player that has it all - he can tackle, he can pass, he can shoot, has a bit of creativity, and can shoot. Obviously I'm only seeing his good bits. Somewhere in the darker reces...

Have they announced who got runner-up HOTY? And is there a 3rd place too?
Glad Areola won save of the season for that stop against Sevilla. Will live long in the memory that one and was so pivotal in us reaching the next round.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
If we finish once again 6-8th, then he has done a clearly better job than anyone since Redknapp. I hope he does. As far as I'm aware, no West Ham manager in the history of the club has ever achieved two consecutive top 7 finishes in the top flight. Moyes is not only on the verge of achieving that, ...
