Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Had Kilman’s goal not been disallowed that was another 2 goals we would’ve conceded yesterday. Desperately need 2 new centre halves. Sadly I expect just 1. Either way I want the first signing through the door this summer to be a good, solid, reliable centre half. None of this value for money cobbler...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

A big win and an important win.

Much better 2nd half performance.

3 massive points.

Onto Thursday!

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

Pretty much the same performance and (so far) result for us as any other season playing at Molineux isn’t it!?

Re: Postecoglou: are the cracks beginning to show? [non WHU]

He’s taken advantage of having no European football and being knocked out of the domestic cups straightaway this season. I think his luck will run out next season when he’ll have to play at least 6 European games, alongside their other cup games. His record in the European competitions weren’t great...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

I think in a funny sort of way Moyes does this to squad players to see how motivated. The message is: “if you want your place back in the team, you need to work hard for it.” Once you lose your place, you may take some time to earn your way back in. That’s how high the standards need to be. It’s a t...

Re: Where will we finish?

We won’t get top 8 now. We blew it after yesterday’s defeat, let alone the dropped points against Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield Utd. I think at best we’ll finish 10th. With our defence, let’s be honest, we don’t deserve European football. Shame really as our attack deserves so much better than ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

He’s done himself no favours when it comes to encouraging the chairman to signing certain players. Sullivan: “What’s that Moyesy? You want another centre half after you spunked at least £60m combined on Zouma and Aguerd? Plus, you want a new midfielder after all the money we’ve spent on a loan fee a...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Come on UTJ, you don’t even have to be desperate to criticise him. I’m desperate to not criticise him but he’s made it that bloody easy these days. Can you hand on heart genuinely say that Steidten couldn’t go and find better than this? Other than Alonso over time, which manager was appointed under...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Vlad has another year on his contract no matter what doesn’t he? If he doesn’t accept a new offer, it doesn’t mean we can’t go into another season with him. He can stay. I imagine we’ll sign another RB. I am convinced we’ll go in for Wan-Bissaka as I was we would for Ward-Prowse last summer. Ticks l...

Re: Newcastle Utd v West Ham Utd - Match Thread

Go with the exact same tactics that worked a treat for Forest when they won there. And remember, this is the same Forest who has one of the worst away records in the league. Pending on there being no injuries I suspect it’ll be the same starting 10 of the 11 who played against Villa. The only questi...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I initially wanted a LAM. But, now I’ve seen how well Kudus has performed there, as well as any other position he’s pretty much played in across the attack, I’m more inclined to say we should try and find another Kudus/Lingard, who can play anywhere across the front 3, let alone at LAM. If we’re tal...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

There’s at least 2 ways to look at this potential Ioannidis signing. It’s a classic ‘value for money’ Sullivan signing, rather than going for the ‘smart’, ‘sensible’, option, whether that’s Toney, Solanke, Awoniyi, etc. Or, it’s simply a hidden gem Tim or a member of the recruitment team have discov...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

The only ‘Sky 6’ club I can see possibly coming in for Toney is the Gooners and even then I don’t think he’s a guaranteed starter, so it all comes down to whether he’d be content with that. Would he start at the Spuds? Does Man Utd, Liverpool and Man City need him? Villa, he won’t start ahead of Wat...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Cancelo is 29 years old. No thanks. Knowing the fact that both Vlad and Emerson will be 32 and 30 respectively by the end of the first month in the new season, it’s the last area of the squad we could do with more ageing players. The oldest I want any incoming fullback to be is 27. 28 at a push if t...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

I can absolutely understand keeping Oggy as a 4th or even 5th choice for his character and professionalism, let alone his reliability. The fact he’s supposedly willing to even take a wage reduction to stay sums up what a good egg he is, when there are many ageing players out there who’d want one las...

I see Ex on his podcast (apparently) suggested Oggy will be offered a new one year contract, on reduced wages.

Unless Nathan leaves where does a new CH fit in?
