Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Angers get 50% of the fee, according to transfermarkt. So not likely they'll sell, given that and his contract runs to 2026 with a further year's option.

It's almost as if there's an opposing team who set out to deliberately take points off of us.TheHandOfDog wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 5:39 pm Seems to happen a lot under DM, where we have a first half where we don't do anything, only to come out 2nd half and play. Why is this a thing?

Re: Premier League: Financial Reports (2022/2023)
According to the figures provided by Brighton, only Brentford had a better underlying profit/loss ratio in 2022-23 than West Ham. The teams at the top of the table are the ones being closely looked at by PSR: Leicester (-£152m), Aston Villa (-139m), Everton (-£115m) and Chelsea (-£97m). In Matchday...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Aguerd was Moyes' attempt at a passing CB, but he's failed at the basics of Moyesball: penalty box defending, especially against crosses that we force sides to make when we're in our low(ish) block. This week's Spurs game was a textbook example. What that requires of a CB is concentration and aerial...

Re: Premier League: Financial Reports (2022/2023)
Brighton yesterday released its 22/23 Financial Report. It includes a great deal of information about other clubs including West Ham. It definitely undermines Sullivan's claims about not being able to buy new players because of Financial Fair Play rules. https://www.northstandchat.com/thedailyseagu...

Re: ✍ Welcome, Konstantinos Mavropanos
Unlike certain other players, he does seem to be getting his head around Moyesball. He will drop the odd ricket, but those seem to have declined - in severity at least - since Bristol City away.
Hope we can find him a suitable partner in the summer.

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
I don't see him as a manager who is very good at handling players once he's lost interest. Did Anderson and Haller's values need to sink so low? Is Ings really so bad that 5-10 minutes just to replace energy can't happen? Anderson's form tailed off badly after his first few months at the club and f...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
We're actually in a really good place in terms of turnover/wage bill This is about only upside of Sully & co. Been so good at wage discipline that we've been able to sign plenty of duds and for it not to sink us. Imagine if we can repeat the quality of last summer's additions in the next window...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
We've been interested in Toney since his Peterborough days because of Barry Fry and Sullivan. He's a player we absolutely should be looking at - HG, good finisher, good link man - but it's his first and last chance at mega money, so a move to a CL club will appeal more. Brentford want to get as many...

Re: How do you solve the Edson Problem?
We don't have right wingbacks so 3-4-3 is out. 3 CBs also requires Moyes to bring Aguerd or Ogbonna in which seems unlikely, given Kurt's problems. Kalvin refuses to hold his position in the low block. I mentioned in his thread that the only role I see for him is as a 'pressing 10'. Still feels pret...

Feels like the end for Phillips as a potential starter. He'll have to do something special as a sub to get a start now, I think

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
Coufal is allegedly on £35k a week and has been asking for improved terms for a couple of years. No way he's signing an extension unless it doubles his money.
He'll be able to trouser a few quid in Turkey when his contract with us is up. Not sure Saudi would be his cup of pivo.

For all the fine skills of Isak and Guimaraes, they only started to cause us major problems at our place when they pushed big Dan Burn right up the pitch.
Draw would be a very decent result, I think.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024
With all the talk of FFP, how do we look? From where I’m sitting, we must be in one of the best positions from selling Rice and Scamacca, and spending less than what we brought in last year. Though I’m happy to be corrected. Bingo transfer window alert, but it could be a big summer for us in relati...

Both Arsenal and Chelsea in the market for a centre back. Its quite frankly bonkers for Chelsea to be spending before having sold anyone. https://x.com/EduardoHagn/status/1772237545809514908?s=20 Nothing unusual in agreeing with Sporting what the terms would be if you want that player. Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!
No chance Moyes goes to Celtic. They need to dominate and that's just not his style, as his short time at ManU showed. The Scotland job would suit, but Clarke has done well (recent form excepted) and the money would be a lot lower. I think he'll carry on with us and, with Heitinga and Robson in his ...
