Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Reece James is done imo. He’s an excellent player but always injured. Going the same way as Wilshere.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Michail Antonio

The fact is we haven't upgraded on him so his continued ego boosting international career isn't helping the club who pay his wages. Mate, he’s spent half the season injured and quite a lot of people, me included, wanting him let go. The club still paid his wages. International breaks in March aren’...

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

Said this in January, if Moyes is here next season, Alfie Doughty from Luton.

Plays left back, has 7 assists and 1 goal, bombs up and down, 24 years old and English. Really think he’d give us a different option down that side and a proper choice for going with wing backs or a back 4.

You’re making a null point.

Replace and upgrade players adequately, and this wouldn’t be a debate.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

There's only one position for a No.9 in each Premier League side these days. I have a feeling Arsenal will choose Solanke rather than Toney anyway.

There's a vacancy at West Ham, Arsenal, and maybe Tottenham this summer. Chelsea are Chelsea, Toney would be an idiot to go for that option.

I'd take him

Would definitely consider it, has a bit of bite about him too which I like.

He is totally wasted out wide for England.
That’s where he predominantly plays for City. I think if he’s to come inside it means Rice and Bellingham restricting themselves. Not a bad option to have though.

Re: England -v- Brazil (C4 from 1900)

I’ve defended Southgate many times on here, and still think he gets criticism for things that aren’t in his control. But this summer, anything less than winning it, is a failure.

We’ve got an amazing mix of youth, talent and experience. The time is now.

I’m going to go with what might be a minority opinion and say Mainoo will start in the summer next to Rice and Bellingham.

Re: ✍️ Welcome Michail Antonio

how many games do jamaica have; stupid by antonio to be playing after such a long lay off. we are really stuffed if he is out again. we are already losing alvarez for 3 big games we cant afford anymore players missing games. hopefully he doesnt play much ! This argument really grates on me. The iss...

Re: Ben Johnson

Ultimately, is he going to start games if he signs a new contract? I think the answer is no, and when he does get used it's because we've injuries elsewhere with him filling in everywhere for the last couple of months. Does he want to be a bit part player or go somewhere else and lay some foundation...

Re: Plastic fantastic

There's a reason there is a home end, and an away end. Bring your kid, knock yourself out, don't wear the opposing team's kit, and don't cheer. Have some respect for the building you're in and the people you are around. Agree with this. And also agree that abuse of children is just wrong and incomp...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We’re not very good at defending, it’s bizarre the manager fails to see that and for me, that sub just doesn’t make sense. I can’t be bothered with being critical today though, Sunday afternoon games straight after Europa is something we struggle with for intensity usually, another point on the boar...

The lack of intensity from both sides, and the fans sums up the Thursday-Sunday routine. I like how disciplined we've been and not allowing gaps in behind.

Hopefully we can see this one out.

Was it? He wanted to leave, City couldn't guarantee him a start every week that he was looking for. I think he made a brave decision to leave the security of where he was, fair play to him.

Not a bad start to the game, I feel that both sides will settle in for a point the longer the game goes without a goal. Which I'd have taken before the start.
