Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2024

We're not going to get 85 mill for Paqueta, are we? My understanding is that there's a small window where the release clause is in effect, and it expires after something like a month. If that's true, surely clubs come in late with much lower offers. I don't know that there's a lot of value at 85 mi...

Re: Bayer Leverkusen v West Ham Utd Europa QF 1st leg match thread

Proud of those players tonight. And the manager. Proper up against it. Really proud of them all. They brought on Hofmann and Boniface. They both scored. A superb German international right winger. And a deadly striker who scored a brilliant header. If only we had such luxuries. The second goal is a ...

If we play our cards right and don't overpsend, we could actually end up wining the league by being the only team not to get points deductions :crylol:

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

Keown always pretends to be baffled by those 'bloody cheating foreigners' from the continent when they play against Arsenal in Europe. He's always absolutely astonished that players might do what Ben White did against Brighton this weekend, and not get punished. Maybe it's because he was never himse...

Re: Midweek Games April 9-11

Tonight i saw a player go through on goal in the last minute, and then when he knocked the ball past the goalkeeper he decided to kick the goalkeeper. The attacking player kicked the goalkeeper. That's literally what happened. He didn't need to kick the goalkeeper, but he did. He chose to kick him. ...

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

Sorry that's not how I see it at all - he goes through contortions not to criticise the officiating, so much so that the presenter has made a thing out of winding him up about it. Don't mind Crouchy. He sees his role on here very much as someone who needs to go round correcting people or being cont...

Is the 2 points just an arbitrary number or is there a formula/methodology behind it?

Re: Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United - match thread

Dermot Gallagher is correct on this occassion. But last week he was saying that all the decisions up at Newcastle were correct and that the second penalty was stonewall.

He's another who is stealing a living.

Any offer of £85m has to be accepted by us.
I think the clause probably says that to activate it the 85m has to be paid in one go, not instalments.

I've heard that a decent firestick and a yearly VPN subscription actually costs less than a TV licence. I bet the people who do that feel much better when they watch the absolute nonsense Motd or Sky endlessly peddle. At least they know they're not contributing to this eternal and enabling drivel. M...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

Really hope not. Best we’ve ever had it. Give him another 3 years and let us fix our aging and poorly assembled squad. The entirely predictable scenario is that we'll get 4 points from 5 games after appointing a 'progressive manager' (whatever that actually gets you. See: Every progressive manager ...

Re: David Moyes' Claret and Blue Army!

We will see what De Zerbi is made of now. These are the tests that I want every candidate for West Ham manager to have passed; coming through the rough patches with integrity intact and resilience. If he's able to do that whilst managing to fight for the European places, I'll consider him a success...

Re: Where will we finish?

When you think back to the Sheffield United farce at the end where we were undoubtedly robbed of 2 points. And then the Burnley handball in the last minute (you never know if the pen goes in though). Then the total nonsense at Newcastle last week (we win that game at 3-1 without that ridiculous pena...
