Roll up! Roll up! No hurry - you've got at least six years, sorry we mean up to six years ...... https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jul/20/cabinet-accepts-brexit-transition-will-mean-years-of-free-movement" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; How many of the 17 million tho...

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???

I don't have much time for the average PR professional but what struck me most from working with them best part of twenty years ago now is how much they hate their expertise/ advice being ignored. Most of their clients value the protection good (I didn't say likeable or scrupulous :) ) PR staff can ...

Re: Gold and Sullivan ???

Not if they want to keep their jobs. I've long thought this. Yes men who know to stand aside, stare in the opposite direction whilst whistling random tunes whilst Sulli does his thang could stay there an eternity. One way or another, PR professionals with any self respect who try to do the job prop...

Re: Adrián San Miguel del Castillo

I wonder just how much time Sully has actually spent working with Joe Hart as opposed to being his employer? My first thought on this regarded his use of the word "worked" rather than say "the best keeper I've signed" or similar. "Worked with" is something managers, DO...

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

As I and Raysrock mentioned, the government will need to take a long hard look at how the manufacturing sector is run, located and invested in once we leave the EU ...... .... why will they have to? when as you say ...... It’s been ignored for years by successive governments who’ve relied on the se...

Re: Brexit referendum result aftermath

One of the great conceits/ fallacies/ lies/ misconceptions (delete as applicable depending on who said it at any given time) was that economics would ultimately trump the principles (not the right word in some ways but it will do) of the European project. After all 'we' feel that way so surely, sure...

The CBI want our leaving the single market and customs union, so in essence and reality the EU, to be put back "indefinitely" as they see the chances of us having a full deal in place by March 2019 as all but impossible. ... https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jul/06/uk-business-lead...

And given it will be almost impossible to determine ultimate blame ..... Doesn't "ultimate blame" ind of indicate just one person? I think there's probably whole heaps of people (politicians, local and national, contractors, etc) whose indifference, beliefs, brief, may well be seen to hav...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017

We play 1 striker, we're a mid table club and no half decent striker is going to want to sit on our bench behind a proper striker and Carroll. I like Carroll but he's only a night out or a bit of bad luck away from his next injury, and the one after that and the one after that. Given his history he...

That would show we'd learnt nothing, didn't have the resources to sign two half decent strikers or maybe a bit of both.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017

According to the very questionable Claret and Hugh, the buy back clause for Nacho is 40% with £25 M as the transfer fee. So they could buy back at any time for £35M. I understand a reluctance to do business if this is the case. He's better than what we have. That is all that matters. That's not a p...

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2017

Bilic said they would buy two or three players that can go straight into the first team and have a first team impact. That's what I will judge the transfer window by. If they don't do that, then people can rightly get a bit miffed. But no judgement can be made till the season starts/window closes. ...

I do not expect them to put their hands in their pockets and buy players for us and they have not. I agree on the "they have not" bit. Why should they? If they were fans rather than hard nosed, cynical parasites they would wouldn't they? What they have done I understand is loan the club m...
