Re: Cricket English Summer 2021

Quite enjoyed the debut hundred. Shot of the night for me was the six over long-on by Mady Viliers (from Shenfield) near the end. Kate Cross looked a top competitor and good speaker too - kept having flashbacks to watching her old man score four at White Hart Lane. Isa Guru presenting was a plus too.

Nothing ever changes in the UK, here’s some of the headlines relating to Emma yesterday, the usual calm, don’t put any pressure on her, style. ‘Emma set to earn millions in sponsorship’ ‘It’s coming home! Emma can go all the way’ ‘Emma’s arrival is a tennis earthquake’ The cynic on me automatically ...

wooden as in his character - epitomised by these pi55 boiling adverts and as post below, he’s allegedly been pestering some C4 reality bird for ‘intimate, personal pics’

Not really how it works, those mature conservatives that die out will only be replaced by those that start to become mature and switch to conservative I would agree that used to be the case, but with the growing change in beliefs and moral attitudes in the UK, all developing without serious challen...

Boris will step down well in time before the 2024 campaign begins. He will probably play the wanting more time with his young family card (aka, I need to earn some proper money again similar to my Tele and Spectator days plus the promised advance for my memoirs is needed now), or use the drained by ...

Re: Declan Rice

If it reaches the (probably inevitable) stage where he’s off then £80m plus Lingard or Abraham depending on club, should be a starting point. We’ll probably end up with £50m and a couple of reserves or loanees, plus a nice little top up for the trust funds of certain peoples grandchildren.

Re: Commentators and pundits

Sam Matterface is so cringeworthy, I think I’d rather put up with Tydesley and thats saying a lot. In any event for me and many others, Ally McCoist is the king as far as co-commentators are concerned. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and humorous. Fully agree with all of that, especially about Matterwo...

Just need tights over their heads, couple of shooters and pick axe handles, a Securicor van, an old mk1 Jag being pursued by a bronze Granada and you have the makings of a hit TV cop drama

Yes, I’d add those at Reading too. They have an excellent academy and will be looking to shift some of their best this summer with a likely financial fair play caning coming their way. Bayern have already taken their left back.

The perfect night. Top result, my 3-1 Paddy Power came in and we got under the skin of my most disliked manager ever of our great club.

That’s the one  could get just about every major (and a few odd ones) kit going in there. I think it became Sportpages and moved to Tottenham Court Road.

Can’t recall a meeting with this lot with so much resting on it since late 2002/03 under Sir Trev. Albeit too little too late, that 1-0 win was a nervy but happy day and I’m going for a replica result and tension tomorrow.

Have never understood the clamour for him. Always seemed a liability whether a red card or error waiting to happen. Prefer Cresswell and Johnson any day.
